lol you guys crack me up. Your awsome. I loved the "why are you painting **** orange" question. Should have just told him im going yellow/orange 2 tone with a pirate flag painted on my hood
UPDATE:
sorry, forgot my good camera again, so on to cell phone pics:
took the car off jackstands today:
Finished Headlights (did the charcoal color with the candy orange pinstripe eyelid, then I cleared the whole headlight and added just a tiny bit of the charcoal black to the clearcoat to smoke them and add pearl to the entire headlight just a bit. I taped up the orange when i smoked them so i didnt darken it, then i added 2 coats of regular clear over it)
and all done slightly smoked
Grills, interior pieces that needed to be touched up, bowtie, SS emblems were sprayed:
Reded my taillights, they were messed up from fiberglass so i needed to strip them and redo, what a nightmare. Used bumper stripper, and it worked great at first, till it started eating the plastic lens leaving a ****** MESS. thought the lights were ruined, till i started DA Sanding them with 400 grit and then realised they were salvagable. The reverse lights i couldnt get back to perfect, but there not backlight all the time like the others so i think theyll be just fine. Outside taillights i got fixed pretty damn well though. I forgot about the sidemarkers untill i was leaving and went "ohh ****." so ill hit them tommorow
Heres the stripper working what looks like beautifully
And heres the reverse lights after the stripper before i fixed compared to a tail light i fixed
Finished:
There tinted Charcoal black too, so they have silver pearl in them as well
And fixed some low spots and primed the spoiler again:

Yup... we may have to fix or if there is a way to... when I took my bumper off I tried to bring the bumper back in with the screw.... and well it kinda went through the little plastic tab....
So some more cutting maybe involved to get the bumper to fit right!

Just read all 30 pages straight through. had glimpsed at the first page a while back but tonight i started reading the thread and just kept wanting to see/read more. can.t wait to see it finished. Color looks amazing as well as all the stuff that has been painted so far.

Did you just want the whole "SS" emblem that color? Or just to lazy to tape off the silver?
Haha, I probably spent an hour taping that 1mm trim off when I sprayed mine. Hope I don't have to do that again. lol.

UPDATE:
Alright i had kinda a slow day. It was rainy and the shop was crowded so i didnt do a million things like usual. And didnt get too many pics. But i did my valve cover today. Tried a marble kind of effect on it, doesnt look so much like marble but just has a cool different look to it. You spray the black, let it flash, then the silver in some venom art fluid, then you blot it with a scrunched up piece of saran wrap while its wet, then you candy over the whole thing.
The color sucks from the lighting in the pics, i apologize, cell phone pics still. But it looks pretty sweet, well see how it looks installed in the engine bay
Also polished and installed interior pieces since they had a bit of overspray on them i had to remove
And I final sanded my spoiler so its about ready for paint. Dont have any pics of that though. Then i just removed the trim on the roof of the car, removed the XM antenna and regular antenna, and continued to DA Sand the entire car for paint. Started scuffing up the door jambs and everythign too. I have the booth scheduled for NEXT WEDNESDAY. Theres people in the booth monday and tuesday so it gives me plenty of time to finish and get it taped up.

its not just a class, its a year of full time classes to get your Autobody degree. And yout cant just start out painting your ****, you gotta get good at doing hoods and banging dents out of 1/4 panels and painting tons of other ****. I spayed alot of other **** b4 i even thought of attempting my own car. Which is why im down to the wire now at the end of the term. I didnt decided to paint it till half way through. I have a full schedule this summer and then i graduate in august. But i believe may 6th is the end of spring, and summer semester starts sometime after that
