Heres something else I did, did this last week so it has no place in my day to day schedule i got going on in the OP so ill just post it here:

Since all the metal on this car is yellow, I had to do something to get rid of the yellow inside the trunk. I decided to spray it with undercoating. Its black, prevents corrosion, and helps sound deaden. I can use more, i really only got one coat on it, but this is easy and will serve more of a purpose then if I just spray bombed it or painted it. I also got some carpet cushion from the house were building, and that stuff is great sound deadner, its just like the OEM stuff found behind some of the panels in the cobalt, like whats stuck on the floor of your trunk in your spare tire well and on the underside of your trunk floor mat. Im gonna tape that up behind any door panels and interior panels that dont have it.

oh **** eyelids are easy brotha, i just went to my local vinyl guy and had them do it for me. cost $30 for the stripes down the hood and the eyelids. I had to draw it out for him to show him exactly how i wanted it, but other then that, theres nothing to it. He does all the work lmao. I just wound up scuffing them up and painting pearl over them when I did my rims. Spoiler on the other hand is taking some work. about 8 hours in and it still looks like it has another 8 to go

Most people on here have talked around the 250-350 range I believe.

I did mine for under $20. Includes everything, metal, bondo, sandpaper, primmer, base, clear, compound, glaze, tape, masking paper, etc.

Granted I got mine done in about 3 hours from pulling in with the spoiler on, to leaving with out. Needless to say I have to redo it. If I took my time it usually takes a full day or so.

If you think about it welding everything in is less then a dollar. I just used scrap metal.

Bondo is about $15 a gallon, I used like one scoop of it. $1 give or take.

Sand paper is about $80 per roll. Used about $2

Prime used about 5oz. K38. $3

Base used about 2oz. $5

Clear 9oz $9

Compounds I buy are in gallons so maybe I used a couple dollars.

So yea, right around $20

Granted I probably used a little bit more of everything and just wasted it, but using a Devilbis PRI and a Sata RP which have a pretty good transfer percentage, decently accurate.

Haha yea, I am not talking about the average guy in this case.

I have over $1000 of paint products in my room. Buying in bulk if you can, saves you a lot of money.

Only thing for a lot of guys is the catalyst, 2 weeks is not a lot of time to use it all.

its just jet black with some gold pearl in the clear. Turns them into a bronzish color from the gold laying on top of the black, but they sparkle in the sun pretty nice. Gotta strip them and redo them for this paint job though

Thanks bud!

Im going to be experimenting with the brake calipers. One guy tells me that you NEED high temp paint, and he keeps telling me different kind of caliper paints to get and whatnot. A more experienced guy tells me modern paints will hold up just fine on calipers, and paint them just like a piece of metal by sanding, etch prime, prime paint etc.

So ill be spraying them with the same material as my car and we'll see how they hold up, I doubt ill find an orange caliper paint that would be close to my car color

:-O! I didnt know that.... well since I already have the materials ill spray them with regular paint first, if they start flaking or turning a funny color, then I know who to contact Thats pretty sweet that they do that. Ill make sure to spray a piece of sheet metal incase i need to mail it to them to match

DAY 3

Still have more shaping to do. What a **** this thing is. But its really starting to come together and look sexy. **** maybe when im all done i can use it as a mold and sell them with a bolt in it and make it a bolt on piece

Also my DDM tuning 12K 55W HID's came in today, also got 8K 35W Fog lights:

BTW, the HID bulbs didnt fit in the light. I had to file the plastic to get it to fit inside. Pics:

heres a comparison of 35W 12K and 55W 12K, I put one in each headlight:
35W top, 55W Bottom

35W

55W

Rigged the fog lights ballast in place since it was getting dark and i was tired of ******* with the car today
