Halfcents 4th gauge pod concept
Here's the last thread...
We (meaning you guys via this forum) have figured out that problem is appearance. There is a large blank space under the gauge row and above the dash that isn't doing anything, just sitting there kindda silly looking. We know why its there; to provide the necessary clearance for the gauges to actually be mounted. The pod really isn't that large at all, it just looks like it is because of that space. Here is a picture of the pod next to a single gauge pod and a stock A-pillar, you can see it isn't that big. (sorry it came out so dark, shitty camera phone)
So I'm lying in bed the other night thinking about how to cope with that specific issue and I came up with this. Slope that area forward, hence giving it a better appearance. Here is the old next to the rough start of the new one:
I have only so far cut the bottom and front of this block. I haven't shaped the top or rear yet, which is why it is still large. I put the brow line back in, which I think is necessary. I think this idea is headed in the right direction. Here are a couple shots in the car.

guys, he's gonna finish that, that is just the prototype for fitment and stuff
i think it would work a lot better if you had it extending from the normal cluster housing

If your going to do something with the center of the dash, your going to have to get into cutting up the top dash piece and fitting in better. Nothing you do is going to look good if it is just sitting on the top of the dash like that.

What is right under that center panel part? is it full of wires and tubing? If not then i would try and keep it as low as possible and have the gauges partially fit into the stock dash.
