Hate to do this... hid problems..

searched around, saw some somewhat similar threads but different problems..

anywho, just got this Xentec HID kit off ebay...

Bi XENON 9003 H4 9007 H13 Dual High Low Beam HID KIT | eBay

u can kinda see the pics for how its set up on there...

anywho i installed it last night.

PROBLEM/S: The lights work. But, idk what causes it but sometimes when i switch them on they dont work. either one side, the other, or both. also, when this happens, i hear a noise coming from the the passenger side ballast. it especially turns off if i hit the highbeams

im sure i hooked them up right... the wires u need to connect to the stock harness are as follows:

new kit stock wires
blue red (drl)
black black (ground)
white orange (highbeam)

the kit came with basically a relay sort of ballast. the stock plug goes into it, and it kinda loops around to make it to the hid bulb evetually after a few hookups. no power or gorund wires needed.

anywho please help if u have dealt with this kit, anythings appreciated really, even trolls

Might need a better relay harness.

Yea, I'm pretty sure you need to ground the HIDs, also did you take out your DRL fuse? Apparently that's a big if you don't.

I have the same kit, with no relay harness. works great every day? Go through and double check everythings connected tight.

what do you mean ground? heres the deal, the kit came with 3 naked wires, and a plug they fit into in order to plug into your 3 wire stock bulb plug. so i matched them up and did that. u saying the black ground wire needs to be tapped into the chassis?

also didn't know i'd need to remove the drl fuse... wouldn't that make the lights not work if i took that out?

I can't really see the relay harness it came with so I really can't tell you. but yea apparently having the DRL fuse in is not good for it.

A real relay harness will almost guaranteed fix this, I've seen it plenty of times, the car cannot put out enough power to initially start up the bulb. Sometimes it can, sometimes it can't. A relay harness will ensure that they hid kit is getting enough power. I had this same issue in the past, and a relay harness was the fix

thanks tommy u know where to get this or have a suggestion, as in which one u got? i'm a total hid noob haha

HID Relay Harness

Just make sure you put the black relay box INSIDE the engine bay, it needs to stay dry.

Should only need one my fogs used to do the samething till i changed the ground wire

I didn't remove anything. I plugged in the wires to the ballast and plugged the bulbs in. No ground, no nothing. If anything you might have got a defective kit?

edit: I don't have bi xenon kit, i just have single. sorry.

You have an 06 so you don't have to. the 07-10s have the low beam as the drl which is damaging to hids. Also riceburner since you have an 06 you don't have a drl fuse to remove either, so no worries there.

well i ordered relays from buyhids.com so hopefully that works. tonight: install the fog hids! ill post back on here once i figure it out, and still open to any other suggestions
