I understand that it's the bowl of the reflector that produces the unwanted glare however I was wondering if a light like the Anzo or a fully painted black factory housing would reduce the glare, even a portion of it when running HID's.

Not one bit. Projector housings have little to no glare because they are done properly, and half the light is cut off (from upwards towards drivers' eyes, down onto the road). The dish design in an open casing is not proper for the amount of light HID's put out, and still smatters light everywhere.

sorry if this is a re-post, but im trying to wrap my head around this. If i buy the 4th gen projectors from Depo, will it be ok to use HID bulbs with out modifying them (the web page offers the HID bulbs). Or should i just stick with normal bulbs? I dont wanna take a chance on breaking something i just bought, just to have a cooler look and bighter bulb. Please help..

Please excuse my ignorance with hid's, but will the hid kits for the stock headlamps fit in the gen3 projectors that I have? I know I need h1 bulbs for the projectors. Sorry again, but I'm a bit confused and I want to make sure I get the correct kit. Never mind, I figured it out.

HOw glad I am the Mazda had projectors come stock along with crappy HIDs. All I had was to upgrade from 35w to 55w ballasts and get the right color. I used DDMTuning and had them a week later.

They sell the Apexcone kit, which is the best on the market in terms of reliability and ease of use for under 100 bucks. I bought a set of fogs and a set of lows for 100 with free shipping and hate driving my other car with silverstars. Its just so dull. I have yet to hide my ballasts, but my car is going under the knife to get all new stainless, catless headers this weekend and I'll probably hide them (and focus the beam) then. Be glad you guys have such easy headlights to aim. Mine requires the removal of the bumper cover and 3 different socket sizes.

This has probably been answered a hundred times before me, but how are HIDs at around -40 celcius (-40 f)? Does the warm up time change drasticly? Are they apt to burn out faster at colder temperatures? This is my last hurdle before I go out and get a set of retros.
