High vs Low Spoiler
#27
This is why I got rid of mine. I just got off work we just got some snow. I went outside to find ******* icicles on that POS ricer wing. Not only did I have to scrape my windows I had to knock down the **** on the spoiler. I just got sick and tired of having that **** on the back.

****, I LOVE my RK Sport 3pc. It looks so damn good from all angles. I never liked the head-on rear look of the high mount. The high looks good from the side, and ANY angle but dead on from behind the car....and the rear view mirror.

People are always talking about ways to make their cars look "cleaner". My suggestion would be to lose the lip. It does nothing for aerodynamics, and is just asking to get broken. Looks much cleaner without it in my opinion.
BTW I have driven both, and I think both wings have bad blind spots. The low wing cuts right across the grille and headlight area of trailing cars when I look in the mirror, and makes it almost impossible to tell what kind of car they are. Not a problem though once you get used to it.

I didn't want the high wing, but the car was the only laser blue '07 with g85 in the state, so had to sacrifice for the wing. It's 50/50 some days i think it looks good and others I wish it would fall off. Then i could go to GM and get a new trunk lid!!!

What color is your Balt?
I might be willing to trade if you're that unhappy with it.
Personally I think it looks better but I've heard 50% either way.
I don't do a lot of driving. and when I do there ain't much behind me a care to look at
So I think I might go to the high mount. If anyone else is interested in swaping out let me know. My balt is 07 Laser Blue.

Im sick of not being able to tell if a cop is behind me, or if its some old fart in a crown vic.
Im looking to trade my arival blue ss/sc wing for a ls/lt spoiler. If anyone is interested, hit me up with the PM.

The high all the way baby. just look at my sig, even had it on my Ls. I think i was one of the first ones who did it , seeing that i ordered my LS with the SS wing before the dealers in ohio even had SS's.

ehhhh, i dunno, i personally think that all balts look like they sit kinda high. it's only like a 1/2 inch diff.
but, the SS/SC is "too much" for me, if that makes any sense.

all about looks
To be honest with you all. I think it's more about looks than functionality or impedence on vision. I have seen cobalts with both wings and the high spoiler is simply more eye catching. The low spoiler looks cleaner and makes the car a little more of a sleeper "that is if you can be a sleeper with SS Supercharged on your bumper and fenders" anyway I dig the high spoiler but unless someone decides to trade me for the low spoiler I am simply not spending the $$$ on it because my money's going to the Stage 2 Kit.
I am glad to hear everyone's opinion on this subject because no one opinion is right or wrong and we all like things a bit different. One thing is for sure. We all own some badass little street machines and spoiler or not I LIKE IT!!!

I actually wanted my car with the low rise spoiler. But the dealer couldn't find one anywhere and while searching stumbled across one with Recaros. Hummmm... lets see, keep looking for one with the low rise or get one with Recaros? Guess which way I went.

High mount FTW!! Without the highmount, it looks like a regular cobalt almost. I had a moment I wanted the low mount, but it lasted about 1 month, then I was right back at loving the high mount!!

I liked my high wing because it blocked the headlights of cars behind me.
I hated the high wing because it is totally non-functional. To me a nonfunctional wing is rice. It actually slows the car down and hurts the gas mileage.
I hated the high wing cause it is like rubber, shakes and weighs a ton.
I hated the high wing cause it attracts more attention from the man.
If I had a high wing I would get the CF wing and endplate kit, at least then it might provide some downforce at speed.
But I am much more into function than style.
just my 2 cents, your reality may differ

i love the high rise spoiler, without any spoiler the ass end looks so short and awkward and the lo pro just doesnt belong on an ss/sc, and with the high rise you can get pretty good at looking under and over the wing in the rearview i know what cars are behind me no prob..
