LED tails arrived today.
Well I made an impulse buy the other day and ordered some of the LED tails of eBay. They arrived today. 4 days shipping to Canada through the holidays
I got them for $120 USD plus shipping.
They have some light scuff marks on the side of the light that is exposed to the left side of the car (due to his packing). I'm waiting to here back from the guy to see if he will send me new ones or if he will at least refund my shipping costs. Other than the minor scuffs on the side of one, they are MINT and brand new.
I don't want to send them back because I'll have to pay shipping back to him.. YAY eBay.
The scuffs are only minor, and I could probably easily fix them myself, but i'm what my girlfriend calls... "lazy"... ...
After I hear from him, I'll install them and take pics.. they guy was pretty helpful so far, so I'm expecting a reply later tonight, if that happens I'll install them tomorrow and take some before and after day and night shots.
Next I have to go to the dealer and pick up a 04 impala LED 3rd brake light, and retro fit it into my existing light.
Bump Edit: - Jan 8
I sent the Left side light back to him, he payed for shipping. I sent if off today (Jan 8), I should have the replacement hopefully by next monday if there are no delays (Jan 15).
I hooked up the Right side light yesterday to make sure it was working perfect before I sent the left light back to him. The light is 100% plug and play, plugs into the existing light socket and you're done. Looks Awesome.
Once I finally got the cargo net retaining clip off... it took me 20 min to remove the old light housing, put the new one, check it to make sure it worked, and then put the old one back in... I didn't want to drive around with only 1 LED tail light for a week.
I forgot to take a pic with the light in, but pics will be taken once the new one arrives shortly.
Edit
The lights are installed, and I have a better picture of the AutoLights, and a better pic with brakes applied.
Auto Lights ON
Brakes ON
This camera phone does NOT do the lights justice. They look really good in person. When the lights are off, they look like a factory unit....

take rubbing compound, screatch remover or something like that to take those scratches out. like your hand buffing or hand polishing it. did it all the time at carstar when i worked there

Hey evlpeanut is there any way you could take pics on how to install those led tail lights. I'm kind of disappointed on hard it looks to install the halos but the led tail lights look easier. I really like the ones you purchased by the way do you have that link?

Those do look pretty nice. They don't make your blinker speed up like replacement LED bulbs alone, though, do they? I'd hate to spend all that money and still have to install load resistors...

Damn people are just finding these. I ordered mine off ebay and have had them on my car for over a month now. They are the ****! Install is easy as hell. The little box that comes attached to the led light you can mount in the trunk. When you peel back the carpet to get to the tail light there is an open space that you can stick the box in there and it has a sticky on it to stick to metal. Great place to hide it! Have fun they are bright and they look SICK!
