Painting my hub caps.... yes you heard me right

Are you sure that's a "spiderweb"? Looks to me like "fisheyes" -- is the paint not adhereing in little circles? That's caused by oil or grease -- if that's what it is you need to make sure the caps are CLEAN. Make sure to use some prep-all to get all the grease/oil off before spraying.

Enough with the idiotic flames. The only thing you're doing is proving how retarded you are.

I agree. Flaming is pointless. Don't hate..........appreciate!

wow not cool guys, so the mod isnt the most expensive or maybe even the greatest looking...he's trying somthing out and if it makes him happy, then so be it...you dont have to paint your dubcaps/wheels

Just an idea I'm throwing out there for you. Why don't you go get wheel paint, stick the hub caps somewhere in the garage, take the wheels off, tape the tires up and paint the actual wheels like gun metal or something. I mean, they're thick 5 stars. I don't think it would look too bad. Just rough em up with some sand paper and spray them down. You could probably do it with 3 or 4 cans, and I know they're like $6 a can. I did it to some old rims I had for drag racing, and they turned out pretty good. There's my 2 cents.
Or, if you really want to get into it, go get some black wheel paint and some gun metal wheel paint and a couple rolls of masking tape, spray the lip of the wheels black, and the stars gun metal. I would totally do that.
Best part about it is, if it looks like ****, just put the hub caps back on.

if none of us took risks or changed it up we would all have the same cars... I think this is a good idea, if it looks like **** or just doesnt float your boat you can take them off and spray the rims black, cant really lose... Plus how would black wheels with a little red chev emblem look bad?? depending on the color this could look good, just make sure you take lots of pics! and dont mind the other guys, alot of guys on this site are ****** because we're all spread out across US and Canada so they all have their internet courage and no respect they all give cobalt drivers bad names...i like being a nice guy with a badass car, feels alot better then being a *** or a ***** in a bad ass car anyways, at times cobaltss.net is a hard place to find encouragement, depending who enters your thread!

I agree totally! Thanks for backing me up guys.
If I had the same wheels, I'd paint them, i got the crap ones though. Anyone got them painted?
i would honestly just paint the "hubs" they are a basic 5 spoke design, you could pass them off as rims
Ehh, I REALLY don't it would look good. I'm not going to put in all that effort to try something that I think is gonna look stupid in the first place. Anyways the caps are a 5 spoke design and IMO will look better when they're painted than the wheel/hub would. Most people are surprised when I told them they were hubcaps and not wheels.

It probably is fisheyes. Anyways me and my big brother found out what the problem was. That plastic primer I put on, was ****. The paint wasn't gripping to it AT ALL. I don't think it was made with the idea of automotive paint be put over it. So I sanded the **** out of the rims again and started ALL OVER with painting em'.
No sorry it REALLY ugly in person.

I still never found anyone who was insulting this guy for this idea. I commented on how his friend looked like a famous rapper and people responded. No one ever said this would look like **** or something along those lines, but you can read between the lines all you want for something that isn't there.

ya I did mine the other day because I was bored and needed something to do until I got my rims. So for now this is what I'm rollin with, lmao.
Here's another picture from different angle.
