Things like this disappoint me to no end with this community it was expected but im surprised the companies that make the CF trunks didnt jump all over building this. This would have been a case of if you build it we would buy it. Honestly can't wait to pick up a C6 in the coming 2 years after my garage is built better aftermarket because they are a community that will pay to play.

kevin if you decide to make a few. DO NOT LET THEM GO CHEAP DUDE. minimum 1k a piece with a trunk included. you need to remember your time, your services, materials, etc etc. not to mention this is something that makes your car unique. do you really want everyone to have one?

i know if i were to replicate these in sheet metal i would be charging around 1500 with me supplying a trunk. you people have absolutely NO CLUE about body work and how much goes into it especially when it comes to molding parts that overlap quarters and such like kevin said. a carbon trunk with a blade attached would cost no less then 700-800 because even trunks are 400-500 alone without a wing now add someones r&d time to clay and make a spoiler mold it in and now make a mold for the whole unit. this is for large companies too where as kevin and i are not and it costs a lot more money to make these and a lot of time out of our personal time. remember personal time is a lot greater then shop time and most shops around here in il charge anywhere from 90-104 an hour for custom labor labor rates. so you do the math and add it all up.

I would guess that the number of people on here that make a comfortable living and have $1000 readily available to them is less than 1/50
That's not necessarily a bad thing, you just have to remember the cliental that you're catering to.

Exactly why im not reproducing what I have in the works right now....sorry man im not about to take a hit on labor and product and materials just to make stuff for this community. Save up spend good money wisely on good parts

Buy what you WANT when you can AFFORD it. DON'T buy what you can AFFORD when you WANT it.
JMHO that has served me well for more than 65 years.

see now i was all set to make a mold of my wing. **** maybe i will i dunno i still debate it since I have a spare trunk waiting to be shot at the shop. But if i lay some mold release agent on my wing and make a mold of it and start reproducing them, You would need a wingless trunk for them to even look decent on. Im probobly abou tto repaint my car this summer, and Im thinking about just selling my trunk and going wingless. It was fun and different, but im over it
