I had white on my red LS.. and i thought it looked tight as ****. So what if people wanna call you rice, do you really care.. it's your car do whatcha want. But if your lookin for opinions i'd say get em. I dunno what color scheme your goin for but black and white might look a lil funny, dark car light neons.. I'd say go for the blue. But def post picks if you get the white i wanna see it

I have red l.e.d.s on my ss/sc and everyone says its sick. Its deffinatley NOT ricey. But like everyone else says, make sure whoever puts them on whether its you or your favorite customs shop, make sure they are up and out of sight. If you have to choose white or blue go with the blue. Do what you want and make your car your own personality and not someone elses opinion. -MBMCustoms-

If it is done tastefully it will not be rice. I personally like a purge kit with a LED light for N02 kits and I also like lights on all 4 corners of the wheels. When the wheels spin it looks realy nice. If it is done correctly and for the right show reasons it will not be rice. Other wise its rice.

Honestly, how can underglow neons NOT be ricey??

and let me ask this.. do you ever see underglow neon's on a nice upscale car? or is it always econoboxes like the cobalt, civic, neon, etc..?
Exactly! If anyone thinks neons are cool it's high school kids and people who idolize Brian Spilner. They look like ass no matter which car they are on.

4. Get neons that are bright, IMO, dull neons look like crap.

I myself have blue neons on my black balt. Blue underglow, blue neons on the supercharger in the engine bay and blue interior neons.

Here are what mine look like

I agree with Tyler!

Just do it right, and get LED's instead of Neons. I heard they're brighter and better. But do what he said

I dont believe there rice. I will be adding blue ones to my sedan soon. There not found on high end cars because an older gen owns them. Also i believe there more "tuner" then "muscle" or "High end" type stuff.

If you dont think Underglow is RICE you better check your definition...

If you like the look or not is a different story. -key point

But 100% without a doubt Neons/Underglow are RICE. So is our big Wing..

But 99% of the population will classify a car with underglow as RICE.. dont fool yourselves. Its like a Honda owner asking if his huge wing and fart can on his civic is rice.. 99% of world says yes... 1% (civic owners) say 'No man.. its "tastefully" done'

I belive it is your car, who cares what is said about your car. Its not what everyone else thinks about your car, its about what you like and how you want the car to look. For example a rat rod, some people drive around an old rusty bodied car, alot of people would say wow look at that peice of **** rust can with a 502, why would they do that. Because thats how they want there car, a duh . . .

So if thats how you want to do up your car, awsome i support you because if every car were the same that would be ******* boring.

"Rice" is basically any type of modification that serves no significant performance gain. Like previously stated... if you have to ask if its rice, it probably is. Most of you are in ricer denial, but thats ok. I'm not here to criticize. They are your cars, you should do what you want no matter what anyone says as long as you like it. But if you must know, I got the info below from wikipedia to help you out.

-Body modifications-
Aerodynamic-seeming or creatively-designed body kits, often with little function
Wings and spoilers that serve no useful function.
Carbon fiber hoods or fiberglass replicas made to look like carbon fiber
Non-functional hood scoops and roof scoops.
Aftermarket scissor doors that open similarly to those of a Lamborghini
Excessively large wheels ("rims"), often chromed or painted in bright colors
Excessively lowered suspension
Bumper canards fitted to the front bumper

-Aesthetics-
Bright paint or interior, frequently in contrasting colors
Decals and stickers for aftermarket parts (parts that may not even be installed on the car)
Badging from other higher-performance vehicles or JDM tuning companies such as Mugen or Nismo
Digital turbo, consisting of speakers installed under the car that emulate the sound of a turbo engine
A loud, free-flowing exhaust system with a large cylindrical resonator at the rear of the car, known as a "fart cannon" or "coffee can"
Large speakers that occupy the entire trunk.

-Lighting-
Decorative neon and LED lighting in addition to the regular head/tail lamps and brake/turn signals, such as lighted windshield washer nozzles and tire valve caps, underbody neon lighting ("hover lights")
"Altezza"-style lights or "Altezzas" (equally popular and known as "Lexus" lights in Europe), which have the colored light sources and reflective bodies contained within chrome housings and clear lenses
HID headlamps with high kelvin color temperature, causing excessive glare.

haha.. i love that there was a real definition.. but that pretty much covers it. Lights = Rice

I like your comment about "ricer-denial" i'd say that sums it up for EVERYONE who voted "no"

thanks BTW

ok, now....here is the difference between a clean install and all others. IF you can see any break or minimally between the glow in a circle under the car then it's slightly scored less in glow competitions.

which is why i went with a custom setup of flex led strips rather than tubes with neon or led's

I'm sorry, it all comes down to the install, green neon tubes on a blue neon.....yeah that's ricey
