So it looks like there are two similar hoods with the side vents and centralized vacuum generator:

VIS Racing Chevrolet Cobalt VIS Racing G Speed Black Carbon Fiber Hood - 05CHCOB2DGS-010C

2005-2010 Chevrolet Cobalt Carbon Fiber Hood R1-Series : B-Magic by:

I would jump on it in a heartbeat Vaughn cause I like your hood but right now I'm saving money for a full dyno tune and new exhaust. Trifecta has kinda been dicking me around.

thats because its total bs. lift the back of the hood up, air goes in not out. so says the windtunnel.

the reason the cowl induction hood worked BITD, is that at the center of the engine was the carburettor. The negative pressure at the base of the windshield ( remember I said the air reverses direction) went into the cowl opening and headed to the carburetter. So raising the back of the hood to let air out does the reverse. In fact.

I think thats a pretty good hood for being available on the market. My stuff is not for sale

Yeah I know that

I believe the point of it is to create airflow between the engine and the firewall, so that's where the cooling comes from.

Suncoast ram air hood

Has to extractor vents and a ram air scoop

I opened up under the hood where the scoop is so now cool air gets pushed in right ontop of the valve cover and hot side charge pipe and the hot air gets pushed out the heat extractor vents.

The ITZ carbon fiber heat extractor hood dropped my coolant temps by 15-20 degrees on my old cobalt. It's the least ricey option. No crazy excess vents everywhere. I want another for my new cobalt but I'm not too sure about the reputable vendors anymore. I got my first one from cobalt addiction and they were okay, but I guess they went under... any other good vendors that offer that style?

Here's a how to on making your own hood vents by one of the most talented CF fabricators in the world. He is just a private individual working on his own car.
Carbon fiber Ventilation slots (DIY)

If you want to see more examples of his work google Robolop or Berellium BMW.
Ps Some if the stuff he does in aluminum is amazing as well
