very pissed about projectors

Ive had them on for about a week now and last night after my 20 minute drive home from work i noticed the projector lens melting on the passenger side in front of the low beams. at that point i was pissed for all the money i paid for them. i emailed the seller on ebay about this and im waiting on a response of what they are gonna do to replace this. here are the pics i took.

That's not ALWAYS the case though. Just cause it's on eBay doesn't mean it's automatically junk. It's a cheap way for a lot of people to start a business and most people on there are willing to work on you when stuff like this happens.

Hope you get it all sorted out, Celica.

you can only gett these on ebay and im pretty sure they are all from the same manufacturer so where you get it from is irrelevent as getting an injen air intake off ebay its still an injen no matter what

name brand stuff is ok like aem and injen the problem is that alot of stuff on ebay doesnt have a warranty (jl subs and amps are a good example). Your right about alot of people getting on ebay to start a cheap buisness. the problem is alot of them dont have the ethics to keep the buisness so its hear today gone tomorrow. I have bought some stuff on ebay before but on this car i wont even dare buy something off of ebay unless i do my research first. I bought some projector lights for an eclipse one time and they screwed up humidity got all in them and messed up the lenses paid more money for the actuall headlights and they lasted me longer until i sold the car.

I dunno. i am surprised to learn that the lenses are actually plastic. i thought they were something harder than a plastic that would melt.

What bulbs do you have in the headlights?? My guess is the seller will come back saying there is nothing they can do as its possible you used bulbs higher than the recommended wattage.

Must have been a defect in the outer lense...i've had my projectors on for 2 months and I love them...call them up and see what you can do.

Thats the risk you have to take with ebay stuff sometimes, i've had my share of problems.

no , just the lights that came with them, and it says on the package to specifically not use HID lights, i thought because they run hotter??? anyway the seller wants me to ship him back the one headlamp and he will send me a new one. so i guess i have no choice i just hope i dont get screwed and he sends me the replacement light.

HID will not melt the replacement fixture as it runs cold.

so what is anyones guess as to why they would specifically mention not to put HID's in the headlight?

Because HID's don't fit without modding the projectors to make them fit...which in turn could cause you to damage them...and then you're SOL.

They're meant for halogen bulbs ONLY.
