Not all wide body kits are that bad? If you had to get a premade kit from say companies like extreme dimensions or VIS, i think that there not the greatest looking. They miss the point of a wide body kit are destroy the flow of the car. My company is doing a project on a 3g eclipse bulding both the fenders and the quarter panels from steel, but actually cutting them and welding the parts not just using bondo to make them adhere. They in turn are molded through to the front and rear bumpers and are supposed to line up the OEM "curves" that the car naturally has.

I am also doing the same thing as well as 2 toning the top black with a gunmetal gray pinstripe to brake it up. The jams will also carry the two tone to make for a real professional finish. Warning on the rear end for this kit tho, my body guy had to add an extra 1/2" of glass to it to make it line up. Another thing to be aware of is that some manufactures use almost no glass (all gel coat) when making them. This results in no structure and they break easily. I got mine from another member and this is the issues I have ran into. My body guy is hooking it up tho and adding more glass to the entire kit. Not 100% sure but my guess is its a Zen kit from ebay for dirt cheap

I HATE body kits on the Cobalt. Or any American car for that fact. Why don't people realize that they are not Japanese inports. No American car looks good with a "Body Kit" on it, other then from the factory. It's been this way forever. Why is it people don't notice that any American Classic/Power/Muscle/Ecnobox/ect have ever looked good with a kit. It's sick to see an American car with a Import looking kit on it. (Although the SS already looks import-ish already) There's not a single American car I can say looks better with a kit on it other then one provided from the dealership.
sorry 04eco had to steal your pics

last time I checked, you couldn't tell some one their opinion was "wrong"... it's an opinion.
what's being talked about here are typical wide body kits, which go over the fenders & quarters... and wide body kits specific to Cobalts...
That Cavalier you pictured does not alter either the quarters or fenders, and is (iirc) a GM prototype kit ~ which in itself should lend to it remaining tasteful.

what you said is this: what's being talked about here are typical wide body kits, which go over the fenders & quarters... and wide body kits specific to Cobalts...
now what he said is this: There's not a single American car I can say looks better with a kit on it other then one provided from the dealership
you said specific to cobalts yet he sais not a single american car. thats not specific.
again he said: There's not a single American car I can say looks better with a kit on it other then one provided from the dealership.
and now since he said not a single american car and that broading the answers i put my response in the form of a cavalier. and now although those did not come provided from the dealership you could still order it as long as you had the GM part number, this also goes true for the toyota cavalier parts. So it is a clean body kit that looks good on this single american car that was not provided factory from the dealership

I read a semi-coherent rambling which I couldn't be bothered to reread over again to try to fully follow.
Speaking of comprehension; did you miss the main point of what I said?
Or are you now arguing that opinions, which are inherently devoid of any factual basis and therefore cannot be right or wrong, can in fact be wrong purely because it contradicts your opinion?
btw, we seem to be in the same camp, so arguing with me is kinda pointless...

im not arguing, you posted first at something directed at me, so i am just returning.
no that wasnt your main point either, it was one of a couple, i wouldnt consider the main tho, and you seem to have avoided what my previous post was about so ill take that as you agreeing with me, or basically just realizing i am right.

The Cavalier pictured still has fitment issues look at the trunk lid and the front bumper / hood on the passenger side...
Not saying the kit itself doesn't look good but as someone previously stated if it's not installed right it kinda makes it pointless right?
And yes that light blue Cobalt with the body kit looks @$$ even if it were fabricated put on by George Barris lol.

Wow, again on this site, someone gets bashed for stating their opinion. BUT, in MY OPINION, the stock kit on those years of Cavalier looked better.
Here, will this make you sleep better at night,
Goddamn, happy now?
