Let us know when you're possibly having a group buy! I should be in depending on the price.

It should sit high. It's the throw that should be shorter, not the height of the shifter. Maintaining the ergonomics (height) of the stock shifter while making the throws shorter requires real engineering and is the real performance benefit to an STS. Sorry about the rant, it just bothers me that people think a short throw shifter has to be short in height.

Yeah. I was wondering that as well. I want to get a carbon fiber shift knob, want to make sure it will fit on this shaft.

That is ARK Classic Knob. And we will have another design for the shifter knob. Also, you can use factory knob as well.. Same thread fitting.

Grrr, I mean it looks like it sits high when compared to even the factory shifter, but that could be the top hat of a knob on top... My personal preference would be something that sits about 1-1˝" lower, that is all, I am not saying it should be one way or the other...

yes.. it is true, ARK knob is bigger and larger than other B&M or Hurst Knob. it is about 1/2" bigger. and it is all billet 2042 AL, not a milding plastic knob. so it is heavier than other knob. It is better to shift softly... and getting shift reduction.

depending on the intro/group price, I'd be interested in a STS for the 2.2l

I was also wondering how much higher than the stock one this would be. or would it be about the same hight?

ok, next post down has answered my second question.

ARK STS 2.2L short shifter result image. It really does feel great reduction shifter and much shorter than factrory. Installation took about 2hrs including all the picture shoot and etc... ARK Shifter comes with all the result of performance you're waiting for !!

COMING NEXT MONTH !!

OEM vs ARK STS

OEM

ARK 2.2L STS

Comparing the two, with the 2.0 it looks like you will need to shift into 2nd, 4th, or rev to tune the radio... LOL I hope that is just a crappy angle...

I don't think that's true, it's not close enough to the dash, and if you look closely it reaches about halfway up the climate control knobs, and the radio is above that. and comparing to the picture of the stock shifter I don't really see a difference in height.

The shifters look nice . I had to totally re-engineer my B&M to make it actually feel good .

Next project should be designing a billet shifter base( nest ) that the shifterball sits in with integrated adjustable stops . It just absulutely sucks how sloppy this cable shifter system is in these cars . In any gear you can push the shifter too far . It would be nice to have a stop point for the shifter when its fully in gear . Not sure if something like this is possible to acheive with the Cobalt shifter design , but it would be a major improvement .

Sorry, I'm kind of impatient, but I was wondering if you had any more info about the release date. like if it's in the beginning, middle or end of the month, and where I can find out more about a group buy/intro price. and if I'm willing to get it, where I can sign up for it.

No problem... The product ready to ship near next week. the container takes about 25days to cross ocean and custom clearance etc...

The price, we will let you know. once GB start. but it will be better than any special price.

Thanks
