Concerns of Oil Starvation.

Already have plans of getting a LDK John Powell trap door oil pan but before that. What are the current limitations of the stock LNF pan? Is it allowable to run higher than the recommend 5 quarts of oil? Just curious on what the actual limitations are. As I drive spiritedly and sometimes over hills and sudden elevation changes(apparently that’s another weakness) and plans of track driving. But I’m not quite sure what the stock oiling limit is. If anybody has answers I’m all ears.

If you plan on taking it to the track and want to have no worries about oil starvation checkout the link. I am running an ARE Drysump on my project and they are a good company to deal with.

ARE Drysump Ecotec

You can't really add enough extra oil to make a difference; maybe a half quart. Too much oil creates more oil pressure, which can then blow out seals and/or push oil past seals.

You really shouldn't have a problem with just spirited driving though. Hills and sudden elevation changes aren't that big of a deal. The track driving is a different story. Sustained high G turns are where you're going to have your problems.

I have the same concern as you so I do have a PRS pan. I don't track. But having a Drysump/Accusump is the ultimate preventive mod. I may do that mod too. lol..
