I can't wait for some warm weather to put on a few coats of Zaino Z5 and make those light scratches vanish. I told myself I would never buy a black car again....arrghhh

Had to use a Scratch Remover from Canadian Tire. And I had some left over paint from my Old Cavalier. But it hides most of it.When its warmer I'll do a better job.Just didn't want that thing staring me in the face everytime I went to my car

Yeah Black sucks...Wouldn't have noticed with a Yellow or a Grey car

It says on the message $50 for 2 pulls for the dyno day.
I don't think I'll be doing it but I figured someone here might.

So I ended up stopping into one of the Chevy dealers in Edmonton today and got to take one of the new SS turbos out for a spin. After hearing all the rave reviews about how much better the new SS handles, stops and go's, I had to take one out for a ride myself. Even though the roads here right now are snowy as hell (and the fact the car was equipped with summer tires), you could still notice a decent power difference from the supercharged motor to the turbo. The new seats they have installed in them are real, real nice too, at least on par or even slightly better than the Recaro option in the SS/SC's. The "no lift shift" feature is pretty sweet too, even though it takes a concentrated effort to ignore the habit of using the clutch pedal. They also have a few new features in the '09's that I wasn't aware of, such as a USB port integrated into the stereo (along with the auxiliary jack), Bluetooth connectivity standard (on SS's), and launch control mode, which sadly due to the snow, I wasn't able to try. The Brembo's seemed to have good bite, although the ABS was kicking in constantly on the slick roads. Unfortunately though, I wasn't really able to gauge the handling compared to the SS/SC's (even though I'm sure it's a step up....not that the SS/SC's were bad at handling). All in all though, a pretty nice ride. Is it worth stepping up into from a SS/SC? Hard to tell at this point. I'd like another crack at it in dry weather. Let me know if any of you guys have driven one, and what you think of it compared to the old SS.

If I rememeber,You're not Stage 2 are you?I've read that compared to Stage 2 its not that big of a difference.I may be completely wrong here though.Stock for stock though.I'm sure its hands down for the Turbo.I have sat in it though.I really thought they did a great job on the seats.

Yeah, I'm not a stage 2 at this point. It's not an investment that I'll make until I decide if I'm going to buy out the lease or not at the end. Last thing I wanna do is pay for somebody else's good time. But you're probably right with the supercharged stage 2 vs. stock turbo being close in performance. Still though, the handling has apparently been upgraded and retuned for much better performance, and the brakes are probably a good shake better. I've even been told (haven't confirmed it yet) that there's a stage 2 kit from GM for the turbo, spinning it up to over 300 horses I believe. All that being said though, I'm still a big fan of the SS/SC, and I like how they packaged our engine bay much better. The look of the SIDI Ecotec in the new SS doesn't really appeal to me. The SS/SC engine bay can be dressed up to look MUCH better (I know, I'm being petty now...).

As for the seats Nova, you're absolutely right. They are fantastic. I'm pretty sure they're either deeper or are able to descend lower in the car, because I found that I had a lot more headroom in it than I do in mine, even with my seat at the lowest setting.

I know. When I went for the test drive, I wanted to see if I could get a cheaper car payment on a new SS, but they said I still owe too much on my car. No big deal, not like the SS/SC is a bad car anyway.

i just installed a front strut tower bar and the TTR rear sway bar. huge difference the car feels much stiffer now almost as if it was on rails lol. noticably alot less understeer while "testing" on a few e.c. row on ramps

Where'd you pick up the TTR rear sway bar and how much did you pay? Also, what was the diameter of the bar?

Looks good Israel! Are you still using Zaino? I put a coat of wax on the Magnum today, but had no Zaino left Still turned out nice though...I have not waxed/detailed a black car in like 6 years, I forgot how much work it is...haha
Here's a mobile pic. courtesy of Igor...1st coat of wax of the year....kinda hard to see the outcome. Can't wait for the clay bar and some Z5,Z2 and Z7 action.
