cobalt ss/sc in windsor
#1951
Hi guys, nice to find a thread full of locals. I live in Belle River. I've had my 2009 White SS/TC since October, and I was wondering if anyone has started a local Cobalt Club or something to arrange meets in the Windsor area and go for cruises. I'd like to start something like this if there isn't one already.

Thanks for the welcome. I'm currently in the process of completing the calipers. I painted them red, just waiting on the Brembo decals to arrive and then I can clearcoat them. In terms of modding, probably won't do TOO much. A couple of things that I really intend on doing is swapping the headlights for some 3rd Gen Projectors, and eventually putting in the Hahn CoolRam Intake. I'm really anticipating a GM Stage Kit sometime soon.
I agree with you though, I love this car so much. Best bang for the buck out there, in my opinion. I definitely want to be involved in these meets once the weather warms up. I'd like to get some advice and see what everyone else is doing to their cars. I've only seen 2 other Turbos in the Windsor area. One black with high rise out in Belle River, and I saw a black with low rise around the University one day. I see the Supercharged model a lot more.

I love the white btw, I think its the nicest colour by a milestone on that car.
Ususally, like mentioned before, we meet up and whatnot, go for cruises, photoshoots, etc..
Its fun times to be had..
As for upgrading the car, get an intake for sure, don't hesitate, you should have had it yesterday. An exhaust would help you, but not as much as a downpipe or high-flow cat. But the car is still warrantied, so don't mess that up. A nice Cold-Air will do just excellent. Get some new headlights for sure, why not? Other than that, enjoy the car dude!

Driving wise, I feel the MS3 is stronger than my Cobalt in pretty much everything, all but the gearing, I loved the Cobalts 5-speed to my 6-speed unit.
There are a lot of things I can go through haha but its dinner time and I can't think right now lol..

haha yeah it sure was
i couldnt get under 14sec i think the best i did was 14.1@105 its really hard to hook up on that track.
will have to return this summer, or i was thinkin maybe we should hit milan dragway in michigan instead this time?

I've been considering putting in the Gen3 projectors... but I don't want to sacrifice lighting either. I just don't see them being as bright as stocks without putting in a proper HID kit.
What do you think of the Gen3's?
What do you think of the Gen3's?

yea you would probably have to go with a good HID setup. the bulbs they come with get too hot with extended driving and it makes the housing crack a little. the worst part with the gen3's is aiming. low beams are a pain as it is, you have to take the lights completely off the car to adjust them each time, and theres 5 different screwes to adjust them; 2 for low beams, and 3 for high. but still, well worth the looks. i swapped out the blue l.e.d.'s that came with it for red ones and i love how it looks. in the end, its up to you man. if u want them with the HID's included, i would check this out

i can show u them at the next meet if u want. hopefully ill have a few more things done to my car.... swapping out the low rise for the high rise, and puttin on the front lip

By the way I think I saw the person who bought your cobalt today. I kinda got a glimpse of the Cobaltss.net sticker on the window. I waved and they waved back. I don't think we've had a meet with them yet either.
We should get a BBQ going next time we have another good couple of sunny days.

Spotted Bojan today at the gym, well at least his car in the parking lot..."meathead"
Frank...that was not my car, some chick from Collingwood has my car. But, I have seen a yellow SS/SC around with the same sticker.
I will definately join you guys for a BBQ this summer, but I'm not hosting anymore...LOL!
