Canada KPA to PSi boost gauge

Hey all,

I have a 09 tc and since I am in Canada, I have a KPA boost gauge. I hate this KPA boost gauge. I have no idea how to read it and I don't want to be able to. I am wondering if anybody has swapped it out for another PSI gauge? I know its possible with a GM one but it has to be ordered from the states and its way too expensive so I was wondering if there was another boost gauge I could order that would fit in the stock location and also hook up to the wiring thats already there.

Links or product names would be awesome.

Remember this is for Canada only so when u ask WTF I am talking about, look at where I live.

Thanks

I replaced my OEM boost gauge with a Prosport boost gauge. It's super easy to install too... only about 15 minutes to do!

Cool, is the right size and just unplug the stock one and plus everything into the new one or is it a bit more complicated then that?

Its a bit more complicated as its a true boost gauge. You need to run a vac. line which is supplied.

Umm I see. So would buying a stock one from the US be probably the easiest as I am not really wanting to run a vacuum line into the car. Isn't there a boost gauge I can just pull out and put a new one in without running anything?

Divide by 7? ummm 80 divided by 7 = 11 umm lol

I can't answer these questions for you. I know that the Prosport gauge that I bought is way nicer and easier to read then the oem gauge. Apparently its much more accurate as well. I replaced my oem one simply because I wanted my boost gauge to match my interceptor. If this help 10kpa is 1.45psi

hey you can go to your local GM dealer and they should have no problem odering one, a friend of mine ordered one from his dealer, it was easy to do, unplug the old one , and plug in the new one,

you can always order the gauge from Crate Engine Depot, heres is a direct link to the T\C American Boost Gauge - http://www.crateenginedepot.com/stor...P2291C212.aspx

Yup and thanks again for the help. I just emailed Autometer and asked them what I need and I also emailed a few parts places around my area. Lets see what I come up with.

check the for sale section to see if anyone from the states is selling their psi gauge and just exchange it for your kpa one, thats all it did, easy swap.

I work in Toronto but live a bit north.

I have been looking at the for sale section but with no luck. I checked ebay and they have a stock gauge and pod for $90 but shipping, duty and everything else would make it $170 Canadian which is a bit steep for just a normal gauge.

Yeah kpa is pretty stupid and I don't know anybody who uses it in the world. The tire pressure monitor is also in KPA so its pretty much useless to me yet again!

It is cheap at engine crate. I thought it was like $200 US to buy the part. Umm
