Neutrino your brother is the guy that owns the silver SRT-4 that got vandalized last year right? I think I met and talked to him before, never heard what happened to the car though, heard rumors that it's being investigated or something. That was a nice car, I hope to see it out again.

And about cruise night, we usually just park somewhere and hang out, some times we make a run or two up and down.

There is so much BS about the stage kit that I thought was resolved after these kits came out. You can read mags and internet articles that state full warranty with stage kits. The Free Press did a tuner car with cams and a wack of other mods that retained full GM warranty. I have done a wack of mods myself. full warranty. the only way I would not get warranty is if the car fails cause I did something that caused it.

Now strictly GMS2 Kit you will have full warranty no problem. I guarantee that. your talking to people who are not in the "know" even if he is your uncle, sorry but, he has know idea. his info is not based on paper.

I have installed kits on 4 cars now and 2 have gone to the dealer for a flash with no problems. another one was total after market stuff and another bought my old stage2 and ended up just getting a GMS2 flash from me.

If you want to retain warranty and save money on the install I can help. Dayn, Maj, and Hispano1 can be my reference in getting the job done. takes 2-3 hrs and then you drive to your dealer for the flash or I can flash it for you if you would like. it is totally up to you.

That looked great. nice run.

for future dates at Gimili for myself does not look good. I work every weekend. My only hope is the use of a stat day. it is hard to switch shifts with others. I will be pissed if I dont get out there this year. I had many plans in the winter for the car getting ready for the next stage and need do know where the car stands with just bolt ons. If I had to guess I am mid 13's. I pretty much know that there is not a 12 in the cars near future. not unless I get DR's LOL (not)

So would I just buy the stage 2 from the dealer then and just contact you after I get all the parts and meet up somewhere?

i'd recommend crateenginedepot.com for the parts, ssnipes for the install and dealer for the flash, or ssnipes too - i think he has the latest one now

Hey buddy. No I was the one with the SRT-4 lol. I've seen and talked to you a couple guys. I have heard nothing but good things about your car (whoops shhhhhh! ). It was my brothers car but he needed a truck for work so I bought him a Hemi and we traded. Then I bought a SS. Car should be up and running soon. Can't wait to see you run on the 18th. Good luck

I recomend getting the parts from crateenginedepot.com. It's where I got my stuff. Took a while to ship cause of the border, but great service and the absolute best price I've seen even after the exchange rate. (unless you get used parts)

Also, Wes did a great job with the install. He charges reasonably as well. I'd say your best bet would be to have the dealer flash it though, because if you don't get the dealer to flash your car, they won't be able to register your GSM2.

i will read the pm again but i believe you did. dont worry though because me and maj are almost one and the same

and as a side note. some interesting reading about the time attack cobalt and stage3

"What fuel does the Stage 3 kit require?

The default mode of engines equipped with Stage 3 requires 93 octane fuel. The Stage 3

PCM is equipped with a 100octane mode.

If 100octane mode is on and you get excessive knock it will default back to 93octane mode.

Does the Time Attack car have the Stage 3 kit? The Grand Am Cup Cobalts?

The Time Attack car uses the Stage 3 pulley and 2-pass intercooler. However, the TimeAttack Cobalt is fitted with a 100 shot Nitrous kit. Therefore, it has a different calibration, and has been upfitted with additional components such as aftermarket pistons, neutral balance shafts, and high-speed valve springs. It also has a short header, large exhaust, and dry-sump oiling system. The Grand Am Cup Cobalts have used the Stage 2 kit in the past, along with the 2-pass intercooler. However, revised rules in the series have made the smaller supercharger pulley illegal.

Company X has an even smaller pulley. Can I use that?

The Stage 3 PCM does not have the proper calibration for a smaller pulley. In addition, supercharger pulleys smaller than 76mm would require an ice-box intercooler and exhaust ported head to control temperature.

What if I want to use a 75 or 100 shot of Nitrous?

The Stage 3 kit PCM has a control algorithm for a 50shot of Nitrous only. It would not work properly with a 75 or 100 shot. In addition, upgraded pistons would be required when using anything more than a 50 shot of Nitrous."

I couldn't remember the final cost of parts off the top of my head, but a quick check on the good ol' CC statement totals me up at just over 800 bucks

635 (after exchange for the parts [with shipping])
180 (brokerage fees with UPS)
