lol, looks like they are going to fix the car. Its on its way to Orion.

For people that dont know, the g/f decided to swerve to avoid a deer, and ended up in a ditch full of water.

It was deep enough to go about half a foot ish up the back of the seat. Filled the trunk (battery is still under water in its little cubby hole.

if a car goes into the ditch full of water its claimed as having "water damage" and MPI willl not fix it. happened to my buddy. you will have to get a entire new interior, and all electrical systems. i bet you the car will be a nightmare if you get it back. I definatly would not want a car that has gone under water. sucks that it happened but better off not getting it back.

heres what i was up to tonight.......car is all ripped apart in the gerage. just need to get some cold rolled steel tomorow and ill have the first set done.

stock mount.

heres the start of the mount.....

almost done.....

My grand am went for a swim a year ago. You DO NOT want it fixed. There are just too many problems you can run in to and 100% they won't replace everything or they would just write it off.

Push hard to get it written off. I should have made them get rid of mine.

no i agree, it should be written off. Water damage = huge headache. Ill put up some pics I took of it eventually. They towed it to my place for whatever reason, then towed it the next day

Gimme a few mins

That one pic is of the rad/aftercooler, or whatever the **** is there, it shows how bent it got just from hitting the water I guess.

Front Bumper is kinda messed up.. Not too bad though, it is just missing the bottom lip peice.

In the end, the g/f is OK, and that is all that matters.. The car can be fixed/replaced.

If you look at the seats, you can see the water line that I was talking about.

Hey Maj, yeah I'll try to say hi if I notice your car next time.

As for the free gallery hosting, I've set up the server the way I wanted to. So if you want to use some free hosting for your pics, feel free. I would just need the following in a PM:
UID:
PWD:
Email:
Phone#(Optional Of Course):
Then I'll PM you back the FTP login info once it's set up. I did a test one. Here is my test gallery:
www.wpg27ss.com/gallery/thought

The only rules I'm gonna impose, as I'm paying for the space, is that the pics you upload be car-related and no vids at this time (until I guage the usage). If I even need to delete something for some reason (ie: cancelling my server or deleting your pr0n), I'll notify you in person FIRST by phone# if you give it, or by email. BTW, I won't be backing it up so keep copies on your PC of course. I use ixwebhosting.com and they are fantastic, so no worries about some basement server, lol.

Plans include a REAL homepage for the site soon. Maj, you wanna throw some photoshop magic? A 640px-wide banner? If not, I'll pretend I know what I'm doing and try ;-)
I also plan to have links from the page to your galleries and a list of our planned events and shops in wpg that offer stuff we want (ie: 98tinthaus for tint, where to buy a filter for airbox mod, etc...)

Anyway, please feel free to post questions here for all to see or PM me. Night all.

Here is my very lazy "I just got off work and feel like a vegitable" rendition of a site banner...

If supplied with more/better pictures, and more time with a mixture of less laziness.... I could probably muster up something a little nicer.

Euter your car should be a write off, the rule states that if the water reaches the cab and gets the carpet wet it should be a write off. If they tear the whole interior out and order all new harness's and carpet then the car should be fine, but that is usually not the case and they just try to "dry" things.

So the cap on my shift knob broke yesterday.... YAY! Go GM....
It's that plastic peace with the shift pattern on it.. I have NO idea how this may have happened.. I've never tried to pull it up or anything, but two of the three clips hold it into the shifter snapped off, and now it's just resting on the top all loosely.
