Great idea man
I was thinking about going out to the first T&T in June, second drag racing event of the year after the May long season opener. Anyone else interested in going to Gimli this year? If there are a few of us, we could meet up for breakfast somewhere in the AM and then cruise out together
I will probably try and go to the sport compact day this year, as well. I was just a spectator at last year's sport compact day, and there were a lot of nice cars. No Cobalts that I remember though

Here is a link to the Winnipeg Heights thread for last year's official sport compact day. You probably have to be a registered member of that board to read it though...

GMS2 taxes in for $950 is about as good as it gets. You should hit up Pablo though. get a GB or something....LOL. but honestly I think if it werent for the sake of warranty the STAGE kits are too pricy. but I do understand. that is why I did it at first. then I say just screw it. I will deal with any fall out with GM warranty.

on a non cobalt issue, never buy a maza 6. In 1000 km's I have managed to make the tranny shift verry weird, something sounds like it is constantly dragging on the ground, but theres nothing there. Also it sounds like I am constantly driving over train tracks. The car is so fucked.. And with 7000 K on the odometer. haha
God I love rentals with the extra insurance

lol, ****** guys. I dont think I want a mazda after this experience. After almost 70. 000 K in the cobalt, the only noise it made was the front suspension clunking. I kinda miss that clunking sound. lol I couldnt even imagine 70 000 in the mazda.
No clutch on the rental though Hispano :P
Talked to the adjuster today, she said that she is no longer our adjuster. The last thing she heard was that they are waiting on the dealership to let MPI know if they wanna fix it or not. They sure run a smooth operation over there at MPI. Soooo, I have yet to talk to our new adjuster.

I just dont understand why this is taking so long. I mean, if they are fixing it, its going to take alot more time and i only have the rental for 30 days I think and we are already over half way there.
I honestly would have thought I would be in a new SS already the way everyone was talking about it.
Well Orion just called me and said they need the second key to try and program the computer or something. I guess they are still trying to get it running. LOL.

Oh thats been done well over a week ago. He asked if i wanted it fixed, and i just told him not if there is going to be lots of problems down the road not to fix it. He told me that they are going to tell MPI that they cant guarentee the work (for obvious reasons)

My grand am GT went for a swim a while ago. Took 3 months to get it back. Between new adjusters, people going for hilidays in summer and them all round analy penitrating me i should have just broke into the coumpound and blew the car up. MPI said if anything happens to the car and can be proven to be caused by water damage they cover it for however long. for 3 weeks they said it was a write off. then they changed their mind. then went with writting it off again and then 3 months later told us to pick it up and it was fixed.
They will not cover the fucked wiring or the rust on the floor boards because when the people did the repairts they didn't list that as being messed up (since it was fine then and fucked now). Also the brakes had to be replaced this year (1 year later) because small parts (springs etc) were rusted out. Also the air filter was trashed, the oil had a gross amount of water in it (after getting it back i change oil to find tons of water).
But yeah sounds like MPI is treating you the same. However your car costs a lot more than value on the grand am ($9000) so I can't believe they wont write it off.
Now I believe the garage your car is at is far more compitent then where mine was (I talked to one of the guys last sunday who works there) so I hope you have much better luck than I did. However MPI will still be the ones to make the final choice even if the garage tells them it isn't something they can 100% fix unless you have the same adjuster all the way through. Things get mixed up enough someone will just make a quick choice fix or don't fix.
Hope it works out for you
