well pretty much what I was afraid of happened I guess. the guy who was going to buy my car must had a hard time scrapping up the cash. He called last night when we were out and he didnt sound enthusiastict on the phone Julie (wife) said.

i ran up and jumped and landed on my hood with all my weight.it colapsed ...i laughed...and people looked horrified lol (my hood is fucked and i have an mpi cliam for a new 1 so thats why i didnt care lol ) it was very funny

i wonder how much weight a carbon fibre hood/trunk would shave off, get some light weight wheels also and then throw out the spare tire.. actually i think i'll search that and see if anyone has gone weight reduction with some 1/4 mil times to back it up

EDIT: well our stock seats weigh a ton (non-recaros at least) and getting lightweight seats can save around 30-40 lbs per each seat
our stock 18" wheels weigh a ton, around 24 lbs, and due to "rotational mass" some lightweight 18lb wheels would net an equivalent savings between 50-100 lbs (not an expert so I'm trusting the source) and a cf trunk/hood would save around 35 lbs

 

I wish I saw that. I would have jumped on top and then let you slam my head into it a couple of times and then fall over uncontious like for a even major horrified look on peoples faces. would be way funny.....

i have no clue, i thought all cars had differentials, otherwise I would help you out, but I'm not a mechanic

Its Not A Fact Of Lsd Or Not....there Saying It Just Goes Into Our Differentals...as Far As I Know My Car Doesnt Have A Huge Hump In The Rear End Or The Front For That Matter.

Now Correct Me If Im Wrong But Lsd Is A Gear Setup Per Say That Is Mounted Inside Of The Transmission...not The Differental,we Dont Have Differentals

yes it does...LSD is clutched based (meaning inside the clutch) differentals is a unit outside of the clutch

 

yah i have no clue about the LSD either, but i asked my brother and he says differentials are to allow the wheels to go different speeds, thats where the name came from. this is for turning because the wheels on the inside of the turn travel less than those on the outside so they have to go different speeds or else it would "drag" the outside wheels

 

btw i got a race this weekend vs my buddies 87 corvette automatic..its apparently chiped and has a good amount of clicks on it...

what are my chances boys?
stock (manual) they run 14.6..so auto is about 14.8 and with the clicks lets say 15.0 its at?

i ran 15.45 at the track, modded i should be 15.2-3 now...

I came across that recently on the forums Jeff, but don't know if it was a joke or not... I think it had something to do with cranking your wheel to the right, do a burn out or something and if one wheel slips... you either have it or not, I'll have to find where I saw that and post it here.

I've seen this question quite a few times actually. It's easy. Lift the carpet in the trunk by the sub. There will be a white label with all of the codes your car has. You should see LSJ, FE5, etc. If you have LSD, it will have G85 on it.
