with I/H/D/E/ stock ss/sc injectors and a good tune, you can get stock ss/sc times, not whp tho, where the 2.4 gets the advtange over the LSJ is in the traction, to my understanding, 17 inch rims benefit us alot more, also the fact that we dont create so much torque right off the go.

so horsepower is not everything, a 180-190WHP LE5 (2.4) can roll the same 1/4 mile times that a 210-220 WHP LSJ runs.

 

I want to race projekt! I think I can launch better than him........ FTW Quadra Drive... Oh and no fast ones (you have to drive your car and not the corvette..LOL)

17" FTW - you remember I wanted your rims pretty badly. 245/45R17. you should do that size and fill up your wheel well. Oh and 60 for stock SS/SC springs interested? I will deliver if you want.

but I am interested in your 1/4 mile claim. a modded na SS can do 14.7? what are the 60fts. are they really any better than a SS/SC? I have done 2.17 but a 14.7 1/4 was with a 2.25 60ft. I will have to look at the 1/4 mile thread. do you have other info or threads? I think I should get one of the NA cars for $10g's and build a engine for turbo and cut 11's for $15g's total. possible?

as for the 1/4 mile times, one thing the 2.4 guys do is only post their times in the 2.4 section, a guy awhile back ran a 14.1 on what i listed and slicks, so far holding the fastest 2.4 time without spray. i beleive the 60 ft are around what u listed with a well modded 2.4, but i am not certian, never really examined the 60 ft times.

if you could pick up a 2.4 for around 11-12 g's, drop another 4-6g's on a build, youd have a 11-12 second car. only problem again is the tranny, the stock internals on a LE5 are as good or better then a LSJ and can handle up to 400 HP (proven by hahn on the solstice).

the only downside to the LE5 is that its a high compression engine, making it risky with boost, but running 12 lbs on a turbo is about right, and gets you roughly around 260 WHP.

yeah that is right. I did that stock with GMS2 and an K&N filter. my 60 was not 2.1 but 2.25 or so. 13.9... so with a solid 2.1 you will be 13.9 to 13.7.

no chance. Suspension up grades for no wheel hop, lighter wheels that are slightly wider 225's, 260 instant tq, no lift shift. it is more than just HP. not saying it is a slaughter. driver Mod asside I expect 2.5 to 1.5 car lengths. If a magazine can get the car to 14.0 flat then it is good for better as history showed us with the first cobalt.... LOL JK


I dont think 260WHp will get you 12's , low 14's or high 13's is more likely. I know it is a high compression engine. the $5gs's would be spent on rods and low compression pistons about 8 to 8.5:1 and custom turbo. then go 22++ PSI. or and cams is a must for turbo.

what can a Getdrag handle. I thought it was 300 to 350 tq. I just cant remember

 

yah thats very true, all those suspension upgrades eliminate the need for the driver mod almost i can't wait to see the videos of the ss t/c guys racing ss s/c.

It sucks, even if I keep modding and get to 13.5 once the t/c's start modding i'll still be left in the dust

 

good driving and slicks with a TC/SS maybe good for 13.5?! that is pretty easy. just changing the HE on the soltice TC netted some serious HP. like 30 or 40. cant remember.
car could be low 13's with slicks and minor changes. pretty sick. then boom the transmission splits in half after 50 runs... LOL.

 

haha the getdrag can handle roughly 170 tq, yup thats right 10 tq over stock.

 

I must be thinking of a auto then. I will have to be sure to get the auto SS LOL forgot about that.

lol yeah the autos can hold that much WHP and with a tune the autos are just as good as the sticks.

 

Yah exactly I wish they (GM) came out with a 4-banger motor/powertrain that could handle power the way the talon motors (4g63 i think) or the neon srt-4's can.. (i'm only calling it a neon to distinguish between the calibre).

They would have my money so fast...
