Which way did you turn? they are torque for like 14lbs with loc Tite. should not have been able to do that. you also should have 2 bits. 1 for 3/8 drive and #2 is a Hex bit.

It is something wet, has an applicator, and is red. oh and I happen to have 2 now. I have no use for them. also I have not told you what they are. dont get too excited. you wont be either if you have to use them (that is another hint). Oh incase someone tries to make it SEXUAL I will note that it is for your car.

 

I turned it left, towards the firewall. First with the belt on and with no luck as the pulley kept spinning.

So then I took the belt off and held the pulley with a strap wrench. (I wrapped a piece of rubber around the pulley so the wrench would grip it) This kept he pulley from spinning but the bolts wouldn't budge and I make sure the bit was seated properly but it still broke.

And yah they are not torqued much (at least they weren't supposed to be) but that lock-tite changes the whole story.
