No 11.4 ever, the car will max at a 11.6 hehehehe. I think I'm finally going to run my car this year not this test and tune but the next one, no changes from last year, just going to see if I can 60ft a little better, I would really like a 11.49.

Yah and he promised me a G8 too.... is mine in yet?

Hmm... so I was wrong.. Turns out its the stabilizer bar links which GM is fixing. I could've swore my strut was leaking too but now I have to double check.

Yea, those stabilizer bar links are ****. It's an extremely common problem on these cars apparently.. I've also had mine replaced.

Hi,

Fellow peggar here, just bought a Cobalt sport a few days back (Was gonna get the SS but my wife cut off the last nut and made me go auto ) and found this website. Man was it a long read. I read through all 300+ pages of this post (I work the graveyard in tech support so I got alot of time on my hands ).

Anyway you guys seem really cool. I work at Shaw and was wonder if any of you guys do as well. I've seen a sunburst orange and yellow SS in the parking lot.

Also I am wonder if anyone would know how much it would cost me to get my car turboed/supercharged and tuned. I would also want to keep the warranty so can this been done with GM parts and labour?

Hope to see ya guys around, I'm going to watch the Bombers spank the Allouettes now.

Welcome to the boards.
There are 2, used to be 3 of us who work at Shaw. Myself (Sunburst SS/SC) I'm a TSR 2 in Overflow. Dayn (Yellow SS/SC) is a TSR in Overflow, and Thought (Red SS/SC) used to be a TSR in local Wpg.
You work graveyards? Are you Ovf or local?

As for Turbo/Supercharge and a Tune... if you want to keep your warranty you are **** out of luck my friend. There are a few reasons for this...
You won't be able to Turbo or Supercharge it without making drastic changes to the power train, as well as the requirement to tune the PCM.

GM now has a mandatory PCM flash read which must be performed by any dealer when a vehicle is brought in for Powertrain related warranty work. The document (it's on the board somewhere, search if you wanna read it) indicates that if an aftermarket tune is found, all Powertrain hardware fault is void.

It wasn't until a few months ago that GM had the ability to check this. There is a 'flash counter' in the PCM which indicates the number of times the PCM has been written to. Each GM flash has a different software version number, which the dealer is suposed to compare against what is on file as the current flash version. It has been proven that HPT flashes report a different software version then the factory GM one...

Long story short... putting on a Turbo or a Blower won't directly void your warranty... but if you ever have engine problems, and they see that they are on it.. they'll screw you around to no end.

Welcome to the site. If you work upstairs, then for sure I knew you - used to do the schedules before I left. The Cobalt Sports have some sweet mods out, but nothing forced-induction that is warrantied. There is a turbo kit that kicks ass though from Hahn:
http://www.turbosystem.com/ProjectVe...24L%20Page.htm ($4 grand, everything including engine and tranny ECU tunes)
If I had a Sport and wanted a turbo, that would be my route!

Enjoy the new ride

Yeah I took a look at that turbo kit and drooled. Too bad I'll have to wait 4/5 years till my warranty is almost up to make any of those changes . In the mean time is there any mods I could do to boost my HP without voiding the warranty?

I was also looking at getting a B&M shiftplus cause it makes the auto's run like manual and is easy to disconnect when going for service/warranty work. Would anyone recommend this?

Oh Maj I work in Overflow on graveyard. I'm the loudest one there if that give you any clue

Yah I was just about to ask what tuner solstice this was but I glanced at the paper today and they showed a small picture of it. I might stop in, it's only 2 minutes away.
