I ran 14.4 @ 102 with a 2.6 60' with just stage 2... So with a better driver and traction stage 2 should be low 14's easily... but thats easier said than done in our cars. Especially on stock tires, stock suspension and non-lsd.

Hey I believe you...

I'm gonna buy a $1,200 pice of crap nissan pathfinder... 4 cylinder and 4 x 4...

Insurance will be cheap, gas will be less than the cobalt by far, and oil changes will be cheap, and monthly payment over 5 years will be $20.00 lol...

So I figure over winter I'll save up some good money and then I can buy a nice car in spring... or if I don't have enough I'll keep driving it for another year and save up even more and then get an even nicer car

I went to the track yesterday and got 3rd in the trophy class
my best time for the day was 14.5 @ 102 with a 2.5 60' with just the stage 2 as well.. I couldnt believe the diffrence of the launch technique needed compared to just a regular road, i had to do 1/4 throttle accelerations all day. Traction mods are a MUST! Ingalls, WOT BOX and this shud be enough to bring it down to 14.0 -14.2

EDIT/P.S: I got about 7 runs in for the day and the 7th was my best, I dialed in as 14.72 and hit 14.54 but I beat the mustang to the finish line so HA!

I'm still convinced stage 2 will run high 13's all day long with proper traction mods. My time, and your time have high 13's written all over it

I think even lowering springs make a huge difference, my car shifts a ton of weight to the rear compared to a lowered car. And that weight shift leaves not much weight on the front wheels for traction.

nice times. is that your first time at gimli? i agree the traction is totally different from launching on the road. motor/trans mounts and an ingals would be nice

my winter beater is up for that kind of playing around. especially when I get my lift and tires. 4 or 6" lift and likely 33" or trim fenders for 35" mudders.

I got them from a RLF thread.

http://www. red line forums .com/forums/ion-redline-discussion/14991-redline-production-s-would-like-help.html?highlight=Production+Numbers

(fix the breaks, RLF.com and SS.net are like oil and water)

THe only traction mode that will get you better times is tires and technique. the hop actually helps you in determining when tires are slipping/losing traction. I ran bwoody bars and sold them after the first weekend. worked well but I would not run them all the time. just put on for track day if you like them. mounts are ok but I think (but dont know) that control arm bushings is the way to go.

My setup for 13.9 was GMS2, Drop in filter K&N, Sportlines, then 24lbs in front tires and max pressure in the rear tires (50lbs?). also I had no wing. I left the lights from idle and left the line aiming for no wheel spin. I cut 2.17 60's 13.9 and 102.5mph. I have yet to see a faster 1/4 by another cobalt.

Kenny has come very close 14.0 @ 109! shot clutch.

hope that helps in your pursuit.

I had my fronts down to 28lbs, 24lbs i will definitly try next time. leaving the light from idle seems very tricky, ill definitly give it a shot forsure. getting 2.17's from IDLE is like WHOA wtf? but i believe u. do you think torque dampners wud be a help? (lookin for affordable traction mods)

I think tires would be a better mod personaly. the traction mods is the wrong title for what they do IMO. Anti wheel hop is more like it. but if you did poly bushings and tires that have better compound and wider and bigger side wall would be the best thing. I wanted to go with 245/45r17 on SS/na rims, but JP said no to even trade with a BJ on saturday night! so I didnt actually try it.
