yah i've heard mixed opinions abouut it too but that is a good price none the less for a stainlesss steel catback. i think it might be good for me because i don't plan on doing too much to my car.. it can definitely handle stage 2 and a cai and exhasut manifold which is about the extent of my plans

well from asking around (i'm not a mechanic or anything close to it) the gmpp exhaust is 2.25 which might seem restrictive but will be more than enough air flow for 260 hp which is the most i would ever plan on trying to get to.. and a borla or corsa is more expensive, or at least i haven't found that good of a price on either of those yet

yeah i thought it was..dont get 2.25..heres why..

most of your stock exshaust is already 2.5..why make it smaller? 2.5 is ideal for your car so get something 2.5

but the stock exhaust is not straight through - it narrows to sub 2". So when the GMPP one is 2.25 straight through, it is actually larger, when you are talking about air dynamics.

im pretty 100% sure it narrows to 2.25 and is 2.5 all the way till the rear axle where it hits 2.25

It most definitely narrows to 2" in at least 2 places. One of which is in the downpipe, so going with a 2.25 catback is not going to benifit you, unless you also replace the downpipe.

Reference this image for proof if you don't beleive me :P

Alternatively, you could take off your downpipe and see for yourself. Hell, you could even come by my place and I'll show you on the stocker I have sitting on my garage floor.

It flows better, because it never narrows, as the stock one does. I can't find exact dimensions, but it's not useless, that's for sure.

Oh frik, I give up. It only works within a thread, but when I search the site, it's a blank page....

Anywho.....

Wes should chime in here as he knows our exhaust quite well

PS: Found this. Go to post 14 and become wiser, as I just did.

If you would have read my post, it states that it goes down to 2" in more then 1 place. One of which is the downpipe. Do I really have to find reference pictures of the catback as well?.... *sigh*

Regardless of weather the catback goes to 2.0 or 2.25... the fact that the downpipe restricts to 2.0 means that whatever you do to the catback is going to be useless....
