why would stage 2 be one of the worst mods??? its one of the best bang for your buck upgrades you can do that are safe.

stage two was a good buy mss, you could have done it cheaper if you where to buy seperate pieces and gotten a custom tune, but needless to say your warranty is safe here and you will notice good gains

stage 2 is great for warranty warriors, but a waste otherwise. i'm in the first category with you, so welcome to the club! (wes is in some weird middle category where he gets the best of both worlds) just know that you can NEVER put anything less than 91 in the tank now, in case you thought otherwise. on summer tires, you will be able to grab traction in 2nd gear (not first) and get her to 110kph before going to 3rd. others with stage 2 that are actually happy with it (correct me if i'm wrong) would be dayne, maj, myself and that's it. the others either don't have it, or have gone a different route.

sweet, i knew i'd have to put in the 91, i don't mind.. and this next part is weird (at least to me but i haven't thought it out much ) but i reset my mileage monitor and apparently i am getting about 3ltrs/100 km better then before...(it went from 12 to 9 lrs/100km and stayed there even during my rush hour drive home. i would've thought my fuel economy would get worse with stage 2

Well I would have to say this. the cutout is a good mod if you could get it to open up at 6G's only. then that might help but I would dyno it to be sure. it is only need in upper RPM.

GMS2 is not a waste. I got 13.9 that way. I was 100th of a second faster moded up. some may argue that I could have been tuned to run better. I believe some of that to be true but honestly the time I figured out some of fueling problems I had my clutch slip so I was done for the year.

for those who do want to mode I would do the following. GMS2, change out muffler and some of the kinks like Juan, 2.5" down pipe is ok, even length header, 3" to 2.9", and most important mod for anyone - after market H/E and dual pass mode. most important and should be the first mod after GMS2 before anything else. PERIOD! IMO. Cool air charge will get more HP than any other.

I just manage my car and claims well.

I run 87 in winter and fall its ok. car has a low octane spark to handle it and the air is cooler to make it safe.

I get to 120 in 2nd to 7G's there is life beyond the stock redline...LOL

I have some traction issues in 2nd.

hope that helps. remember sub 14's is possible with GMS2.

Oh except HIDS. they make your car so you can see how fast your really going! Nice lights MAJ. H11's figured out yet?

Holy everyone chill out....like courtney said, stage 2 is not worth it if you dont worry about warranty...for me, I got nooooooo warranty what so ever lol...

Stage 2 gets good gains? If you want to keep warranty yes....Put on a bottle for the same price or less and you will run quicker...but no warranty..

Just my 2 cents...but apparently I am ALWAYYYYSSSS wrong and bashed on.

so then with the $800 stage 2 costs how would you do better/different? (and this is a serious question, i'm not bashing)

and i don't personally know anyone who could tune my car if i bought the parts not from GM, but i do know quite a few horror stories about some of the local "tuner" shops.. so that was another reason i went with gm

yah the main thing is everyone should be happy with their own car.. i'm also extra careful because i blew an engine once already on my first car, it was an eagle talon tsi.. nice cars but they had turbo lag, i like the instant pull of the sc better.

Having a turbo and a supercharged car i personally like turbo alot more now too. Not to say i dont like my ss sc...cause i do love it...but I just like the turbo alot more. Nowadays theres not much turbo lag on cars..not like there was...

And all i was saying with stage 2...sure the numbers are all great and good...but i really didnt notice any difference in driving...

Its your car but im just saying what i think...thats how i am...i say what i think straight out...you guys should know that by now...and if you dont like it then ill just stop posting...cause im sick of saying something then constantly being argued with

I dunno, I just read through all the last page and a half and I don't think anyone was arguing about anything. People were stating their prefered mod levels, and the routes they would take, but I didn't really feel like anyone was bashing anyone.

It's true, Rich you say what you think, but the same could be said for every one of us. Personally, for warrenty, I think GMS2 was a great mod. I love mine, every day I love it. But, I also agree there are other mods that can be equaly as good, or even better, for the same or less price range.

Everyone has their preference, and in all comes down to "its your own damn car, do wtf you want to it!". We all have our comments, crits and buffs to every possible mod.

For me, a bottle wouldn't be my first choice, I'd be to affraid of the upkeep and potential for blowing the stock internals. GMS2 gives me the extra boost in performance I was looking for, without constant maintenance and the thought of me not connecting a bottle right could cost me a car....

Again, no bashing, everyone just has their comments and suggestions to chime in with.

Hey I would of been able to tune your car for you.....GM wont even know. I have Hp tuners.

As for STG2 its a great mod if you want to keep your warranty. I had it and was happy with it. Should I of bought it in the first place knowing that i was gonna go turbo in the next year....probably not. But for what it is its a great mod.

Exactly its going on what others are saying on the site...who knows..but apparently the numbers say it does...so we wont know till then.

Is it alright if i say that JP?

Or should I say it like "oh im so sorry guys, i love you all so much, you guys are amazing and never meant to bash any of your ideas..." (yes that was an ******* thing to say, but i wouldnt say it unless the person was saying mean things behind my back...a friend espically)

To answer the question about do we go to Gimli a lot. Yes. Although personally I have more fun on the drive to and from.

You will find that stage 2 is a huge polarizing factor amongst cobalt owners. I think it's kind of weird because it's just a mod and we all have the same car, but people feel the need to defend their modification choices. My advice is to learn from everyone here because, taken all together, they have pretty much done all the mods you could ever want. That way you can see for yourself what you might want to do. I call Ryan and Wes my header guinea pigs, haha. But seriously, things get heated on here quite often, don't take that personally. Everyone is just jealous that red SS/SCs are the sexiest.......(and yellow is gay, but in a good way)

oh i understand, i didn't think my original post would stir up so much debate ..and yes its not easy having such a sexy red car btw i saw some nice wheels that are coming out in april from ASA, they have red (or any colour) inserts in the spokes.. so its like a black rim with red inserts and it looks pretty sweet.. i'll try and find the link later.. this may be my item to set me apart from other stock red cobalts in terms of appearance

EDIT...Okay here is a pic

whats everyones thoughts?

Those rims are super nice! I've always been a fan of 5 spoke design, and I love the ridges on the sides of each spoke. The color inserts add a level of uniqueness to them. Nice find!

I quickly chopped them in, and my spolier blew off in the wind and then my car magically got lower.. but i'm not so sure now if it looks good. the edge of the wheels is too white in the picture. i'll have to wait and see them in person.

and this was a quick chop remember, i know its not that good
