I'll be splitting it up into 2 days driving, but I can always catch up as you all drive through Regina.

oh and for the record.... the caps lock thing....when im at work its caps because that is the only way the programs i use will work and to turn it on and off is a pain in the ass. so i leave everything in caps.i'm not yelling or emphasizing anything its just so i can work at work lol

on a side note,

so im driving home tonight( been sick with the flu and went for a drive ) portage and cavalier heading west. 08 impala with d plates pulls up next to me.guy gives me a smug look.light goes green and we roll off the light.we stay nose to nose doing 60 the whole way up till buchannan ( mis spell ) heading towards the perimiter . im doing 60 in 2nd at about 4000 rpms.im in the outside lane. a semi is comming off the turnoff and starts to turn into my lane.so at this point hero in the impala decides to punch it and stick me behind the semi and lock me in . we have been going for a while nose to nose doing 60.so he punches it and inches forward on me.....i punch it and fly by him! i drop it into 3rd and i have at least 6 cars on him and the semi. im laughing to myself he pulls up next to me at the lights just at the downs and gives my the bird out the window as he flys by me . it was so ******* funny....he didnt want to race till he thought i couldnt do something.it was sad that it had to be another chevy product but i hope he learned his lesson for the night.......

f*ck... so guess what?? i banged against my rev limiter at 6500... and then went.. no that couldn't be.. so i tried it again and sure enough hit it again at 6500.. so now i'm thinking i did not get the proper reflash when they installed my stage 2 last week because from everything i've read it should have increased to 7000???

 

Limitter should have been increased to 7200RPM, if you're bouncing off at 6500 you didn't get a reflash.

ps Anyone know any good cooling mods for the car. I dont want it to be constantly over heating like my car on the highway out of gimli last year....

The only good cooling mods I know about are the typical Cobra Heat exhanger and a dualpass for the intercooler. They are pretty much your best bet, and seem to be a solid choice as far as other forum members go.

yah, the weird thing is when they told me my car was done they said it took a bit longer because they were waiting on the phone for the reflash.. which makes me think maybe they did it incorrectly, or did the wrong one or who knows.. but it seems like they tried to do it.. but yah i'm going to the dealer tuesday morning

 

They may have reflashed it with an updated flash, but not GMS2 anyway.
I don't know for sure, but I think GMS1 didn't have the increased RPM limitter? Maybe they gave you a stage 1 flash intead.. who knows.

From the sounds of the specs on that beast, it's pretty close to the Camero. So I'm really thinking since GM said there won't be a Firebird, this will be Pontiac's performance equal.

 

Just to help clear things up, the Stage 1 and 2 programs are exactly the same. The stage 2 kit difference is in having the pulley and belt. So, if you are bouncing at 6500 rpm, then you didn't get a proper stage tune update. It may have been Orion, or it could have been GM - they have to get your stage code and VIN codes perfect - over the phone.......

While I'm on a rant, Stage 3 has the same tune as Stage 1 and 2, but has A/C deleted and allows for manual rev limiter changes up to 8000rpm as well as a Nitrous mode, for a 50 wet-shot. I also includes the dual-pass endplate and a smaller pulley. Because of the smaller pulley, possible 8000rpm and nitrous, this is the only stage kit not covered under warranty (although try and convince all the dealerships of that fact).

Since Stage 1 and 2 are identical tunes, many people on SS.Net have gone for a "cheap" power mod list consisting of Stage 1, a Stage 2 belt and a 2.7"-2.9" pulley. This gets them more boost and cheaper than people who buy Stage 2 and later upgrade to a smaller pulley anyway......

Oh, and on my car, it will allow the rev counter to bounce to 7200 when shifting at 7000. Also, I recently had a CEL, which Orion fixed by replaced a faulty fuel vapour valve, and now I seem to have lost my random early fuel cutoff problems. Since August, it would sometimes hit fuel cutoff before 7000, sometimes not.

 

yah i just hope orion doesn't argue with me.. some people have said our tachs are slow in 1st and 2nd so again today as my final test i tried third gear and same result as 1st & 2nd, it hits dead on at 6450.

btw i saw a pretty nice looking red cobalt parked off of main street in a strip maill near the kildoan park golf course. it was almost hidden in the back but if i see it again i'm gonna drive in and have a look.
