yah their latest response is "we talked to the shop foreman, we talked to everybody and nobody has heard of the rev limiter being raised to 7000" i was initially impressed with the install but things are going downhill fast. i'm hoping the guy Thought mentioned will help me out. I have a call in to him but he didn't sound too happy when I talked to him. (But i was polite as could be)

I'm with Kenney on this - (I've had) few issues getting stuff fixed there. They just don't know all about stage 2 is my guess - they think it is just a re-program for the new injectors only, imo.... I just got home fr a night shift, and I can't stay up anymore, or else I'd come with you and show that its 7200 rpm. It's funny though that the car doesn't run extremely rich if it isn't a stage tune though....can you smell excess fuel? Erratic idle? **** acceleration? If it is the stock tune, it should be trying to spray 32lb injectors, when you really have the 42s. If the tune is indeed stock, make sure to get that documented so WHEN your cat goes they will replace it free.

boost is hitting around 105 kpa (14.5 psi ish)
no CELs after a little more than a week of driving (and since i realized my potential problem its been grandmotherly driving)
it is definitely NOT slower than when it was "stock"
could it be they changed the flash and lowered the rev limiter back to stock? this is what they are suggesting while they research it today.
Worst comes to worst, would one of you with stage 2 be willing to meet up for a side-by-side roll on the highway for a short distance to see if truly my car is performing as it should?? Free coffee and donuts bagel whatever provided
Edit.. who is Woody? the service guy said he was talking with Woody and he seems to have helped my cause along with Thought, thanks guys! They are taking it more seriously now at least and are going to phone me by the end of today.

Okay the final anwser from Orion is I DO have the stage 2 tune and its unknown why it won't hit 7000, a possiblilty is that the flash was changed. They mentioned the flash has changed 4 times since the original release.
So if anyone is looking at stage 2 keep this in mind!!
If you go to http://tis2web.service.gm.com/tis2web and punch in your VIN you can see your calibration registered with GM..
My "Engine Diagnostic" is "12616351 New calibration with diagnostic enhancements for DTC P0449."
While people who had it flashed previously have 12614065 (an older number - older flash) apparently.
In summary... i will now refer to my car as manitobas first Cobalt Non-Stage 2, Stage 2 which makes no f'ing sense just like my car

lol wtf is up with that...
I think I might need a new flash as well... when I am sitting at a light with my foot on the brake, sometimes my idle will jump around between 1000 and 1500. I just turn off and restart and it goes away... but it should probably get looked at no? And does it sound like a warranty covered issue?

yah.. and another note.. if you take your car in for service or trouble related to engine issues they may update the pcm with the latest stage 2 flash.. (according to orion) so be careful.. because if its true thats its changed, you could lose your 7000k

Sorry to hear that MSS26! I'd see if Wes or Kenney could scan your ECU and see what is really going on in there. They can even set the RPM for you.

you'll have to let us know how you make out with the flash, if your rev limiter stays the same as mine did then we got screwed by the latest flash
#1225
mine is 06.. it has those same part numbers you listed above. those part numbers are given to the techline who in turn give back the latest flash for that model year.. so that part number should never change really.. but the calibration number they give back will change as its updated

i think it just covers defects to the wheel not pothole damage. not sure tho. i wanna get them on soon though cause i dont think the winters like the dry warmish pavement too much
