Thanks for all the opinions. Looks like Ill be taking ur guys advice(although I may not be 100% for it), Ill just roll the dice with it once summer comes around
and bumper to bumper is done.

On a side note - I picked up some 3mm spacers today and threw the aftermarket rims on(they ALMOST fit as is. I prob could have got away with a 1mm spacer if there was such a thing). Seems like id need a HUGE spacer to get the SS/SC rims to work though, 3mm doesnt even come close. Now is there any way to disable that damn tire warning thing?

You have a PM;
I'd really like to know what you saw - becasue I have had two different sets on my car with 3mm spacers;
and have been told that the 'lipped' SS/SC (2007 only iirc; and rare) will work w/o any spacer.

I read a while ago that Vince was working on this;
That would mean if you got a Trifecta tune, and this feature came out - the update would be free.

Ill jack the car up tomorrow and put the rim back on to snap a picture. Even with the 3mm spacer it didnt even come close.

I run ss sc rims as winters and I use a 5mm spacer. It's damn close haha. Pics in my gallery of how close.
There is as of now NO way to disable the warning light. Unless Vince has come out with a solution recently.

What rims do you have for winter?

Ive seen a few TC's with SS/SC rims, and from what I can tell they've only needed 3mm spacers. Mine on the other hand dont even come close. Are you using the vette studs, or still just factory studs with the 5mm spacer?I can see the tire warning becoming very annoying, so ill prob just cover it up for now. I wouldnt be apposed to completely removing it, even if I was using the stock rims I have no use for that ****.. I prefer to get out of the car and check them the old fashioned way.

I have 18" Blizzaks that I was hoping to put on the SS/SC rims, but looks like my TC rims will become my winter rims.. For now atleast.

Mine wouldnt fit with three mm I know some people got away with them though. Different years of sc rims have variable offsets. Ssna 17 will fit with no issue though.

I'm using factory studs. The 5mm barley has 1mm of clearance haha.

Just get a spacer and keep your tc rims mint!

Lookin at mine with the 3mm spacer on i just couldnt see another 2mm doing all that much, maybe im wrong though and a 5mm will work for me too. Where did you get ur 5mm's? I picked up my 3mm's from GAS and all they had was 3, 6 and 8mm. I really dont want to use the TC rims but I may have no other choice for this year. I really just dont have room for another set of tires or rims in the garage until I start getting rid of a few sets. Im just not sure how comfortable id be putting on 5mm spacers without longer studs, especially with my luck.

Thanks man! It was a bitch to find decent rims in 07 so once I finally found these I was quite happy with them. Theres a pic of them on my SS/SC in 'images' on the left

<------------------------------

Ill see if i can find any other pics of them on the SC, but as of right now I dont have any of them on the TC just yet (I just threw them on yesterday).

Any one get tickets to the HSC lifestyles lottery? What would you choose in the early bird draw? The Porsche 911 Turbo or the Audi R8, or the $140,000? I am stumped but torn between the 911 Turbo as i have always liked them, but the cash would be handy too.

Me too!
So at lunch a BMW Z3 M pulled up beside me at the light and he reved wanting to go. I look over and the guy is smiling at me but the best part is he looks like a classic Preppy douche bag. he had the propped up collar, aviator sunglasses and a blue tooth that looked like a helicopter pilots boom mic. LOL

so liight goes green he gets me off the line but I hit 2nd and pow I am gone like the wind i can hear him just screaming the motor trying to catch up but I was already done with him and planning my dinner. to funny.
