Sorry, BL, but I'm totally with Projekt on this one;
there's a HUGE difference in rubber compound between those tire types;
You need to adjust your launch according to different tires;
Consistancy??! ~ with slicks versus DR's versus street tires, the three have absolutely nothing to do with consistancy - it's all about launching, and the reducing the 60' times...
no offense, but where are you getting your info? ~ you might want to try a new source.

I didn't say it was the exact same tire. I said you can get close to the same traction with either tire if properly set up for it ofcourse. I get my info from guys who have run and tested both. And a good friend of mine who works at motion talks about it all the time. I guess he has had really good success with radials. They have radial vs slicks competitions in the states all the time and actually makes for some really good racing.

You mean chris, I have talked to chris about this as well and he has given me a difference response
a Slick runs very flat, a DR will typically run with higher PSI. i am at work and wont get into the huge differences between a drag slick and a drag radial.
hmm a 243 WHP cobalt ran 15 seconds. interesting.

I know the differences between the two. I'm not saying they are the same tire. "Radials to the front" is what Chris was laughing about when he was at my place on Saturday night... I'm not going to argue with something as pointless as this. All i'm saying is there are guys out there who have had really good success with radials. Thats it

Hey before throwing zings there 'Projekt' read the whole post as i said my launches sucked I kept roasting the tires which contributed to the high times, when I get better at launching you will see times in the 14's for sure, and it's 248.8 WHP thank you very much! And WTH are you zinging me for when my post supported you more then bluelightning in this previously friendly debate.
If anything its a shot towards Walls and their ass backwards dyno.

DSM's can be really powerful but aesthetically im no fan.
Hahahah no china town meets for me, I want either a RWD or AWD platform. I have a new DD and winter beater so I want something I can do a lot of work on. Mr2, bug eye, gen 3 supra, skyline gts, s2000. Something along those lines, I'm done with domestics unless I could afford a term or a z06.
If anyone knows anything about a car for sale like I mentioned then let me know please.

1990s rx7 i seen a guy at a gas station with one and i glanced inside and he head a hearst shifter and dual exhaust as well as a cowl induction hood and i saw it and started laughing. then he popped the hood and i couldnt help but notice a huge air breather on top of the engine... then i looked and he had a 350 crammed into it. he pulled out of the gas station peeled out 1-3. i would say it was the only way to do a mazda lol.

Was it silver, if so I seen it before, a pretty common swap actually I think it's relatively easy to do. That would be fun, and I know nothing about rotary so thats the way I'd do it too

rotarys scare the hell of me mechanically, and reliability wise.. i would agree that i would have to do the same. i would imagine it is pretty easy probably just custom motor/tranny mounts and shifter linkage.
hugely oversimplified im aware..
gey yourself a rav4 and put an lsj in there.
