has anyone else used the Blizzak 205/60/16 on 16" steelies? is it just me or is there a lot of play with the handling...seems much less responsive for some reason. It may be due to the fact that I haven't driven on anything but low pros in the last 5 years and I'm just not used to a big sidewall...any opinions?

thats why I went with the Dunlop Wintersport M3, the tire has a reinforce sidewall, which increases your handling. my tires feel just like my Perrellis to in the summer.

the M3 is a performance winter tire, not a snow tire. like the blizzaks.
basically i sacrificed a little bit of snow and ice traction, to gain better dry wet traction, better handling, noise and wear characteristics. ( besides even after sacrificing a little snow traction, it still has better snow traction the alot of other snow tires.).

the only time a snow tire is better is for deep snow, and ice conditions, even then just bearly

what size tire did you use though? If I would've put Blizzaks on my 18" rims I would have just as good handling, but I through them on 16s to save a little money

the blizzaks on your 18's would be big $$$$
go with the 16" and use 205/60R16 tires, perfect match to your current diameter

yea, that's what I put on, I have 16" steelies with the 205-60r16 blizzaks on, but that's what I'm saying is the huge difference in handling, going from the pirelli's on 18's to these 16's with a much bigger sidewall

That woul;d be a good combination of tread squirm and sidewall flex, I could drive down a highway and turn the steering wheel back and fourth and stay in the same lane while the car is rotating or yawing in the same spot, I freaked some lady out by doing that.

I picked up a set of Blizzaks that are 225/50R17 that I have put on my rims that I won that are 17x7.5, they look good and beefy I might put them on this weekend but I am not 100% sure yet. I have also been a firm believer in using winter tires, it's just alot safer and pulling the ABS fuse to turn the ABS off(ABS sucks in the winter).

Haha, scared the **** out of my g/f by doing that, it was so funny. I definitely agree about the ABS in the winter for those who know how to drive. There's just too many people out there that don't know how to operate a car properly and would destroy themselves without the extra safety features that true drivers hate so much.

I was also very happy, it's been raining (more so misting) all day here and the tires had GREAT wet traction, I can't wait to get some snow to see how much they can handle.

thats why I got the M3's, because it's side wall is much stiffer, my handleing didn't go to ****.

I drove a car with the Revo 1's and I drove my car and the differance is day and night.

So how would you SS N/A guys rate the stock 17" pirellis in the winter? I just picked up a set and and debating getting true winters or using the stockers (the car will RARELY get used in the winter)

I bought cheap federal himalaya's and love them!! They work real good. Put them early Nov. in case snow would fall, and keep my 18's from seeing salt!!
