Where to dispose waste oil?

Now that I have fully commited myself to changing the oil on both my family cars (I cannot believe it took so long to decide to do them myself), I don't know where I am supposed to take the waste oil.

Does anyone have suggestions on where to take the old engine oil (hopefully for free or very low cost)?

BTW, I live in Burlington, Ontario.

Thanks in advance.

IDK about but most autoparts stores in the US take it, or they can atleast point you in the right direction. I know the AutoZone by my house does it.

In AMERICA, first you get the sugar, then you get the power, then you get the WOMEN.

No, but seriously...here all stores that sell you oil are required to take back the old oil. I don't believe there should be a charge, either. So just take it back to wherever you buy your oil.

Thumbs down

You can take it to any Firehall and they can dispose of it. You can also take it to the dump. I know here in Calgary we can any way. You can also take it to any Fast Lube shop and they will dimp it as well. (There may be a small fee for disposal of oil and filter though)

cheers

Oooooo.....Here in Calgary let alone Alberta we are way to enviromentally active for that with the Oil & Gas and they monitor that kind of thing heavely. Not to mention if you are caught there are huge fines or jail time.

cheers
