Lol you gotta be more specific on which Pontiac!
Well I ain't talking about the grand am's haha
lol I still think he has more than 1 F-Body

simple answer, yes.

more in depth answer is that I have three pairs of car...

All my cars (except for the white Cobalt) run, and could be re-insured and driven at any time...
From my observations, the worst thing someoen can do is let a car sit in disrepair, and not able to move under it's own power.

I might be (pretty much) giving the '73 to my brother - it was his, and he's expressed interest in getting it back.
That engine is the original engine for it... that engine has been apart, awaiting assembly for about a decade (literally)...

Everything was going good - until saturday the 12th - when I proceeded to grenade the GA's transmission....

So the '73 Firebird's engine is on hold till the GA is back & running.
...but I had to be in Vancouver this past weekend for a wedding ~ so I haven't had much time where i could wrench on the GA.

I think i've reached a point where i've hit a wall. With my truck i mean, it's pretty much got the performance end of it all done to it. the only thing to customize would be the exterior and interior.

Since I picked up a semi-classic truck that lots of people recognize and love just the way it is, I think it's time to part ways with it. I'm still in the grey area between selling and keeping it.

just thought i'd get your guy's opinions on the matter. I know Jonathan is gonna say keep the damn thing!because it's a truck that isn't seen much and does haul ass! lol
this is a bummer to read.

the thing is a truck ofers a degree of practicality that a compact or a sporty car cannot ~ you can move stuff in it...

I'd love to get a truck like yours...
I will look for your add - but I'm sure I can't even hope to afford it (don't let these illusions of me being some kinda baller fool you)...

I like 2wd 1/2 ton, regular cab, shortbox fleetside Chev/GMC's...
I'd either go for a 67-72 or an early to late 1990's (I think 1989's had some issues - and te latter ones of that generation had better dash's)
I'd go for a 1973-1987, but it would have to be the right one...

If I was able to widdle down my cars to lets say three, I'd totally be in the market for a truck...
but as much as I love the 454-SS trucks, I wouldn't be bent on getting one - because I'd tend to use it more practically as a truck, and be less concerned about paying a premium for a collector/enthusiast's vehicle...

I've been wrenching on my cars alone for so long, that I've become rather accustomed to doing it solo...

I'll keep your offer in mind though ~ there are instances where it is super helpful to have a second person around.

Thanks man! I've had only 2 people messege me about it but haven't heard back from them and they messeged me last week. I'd say I would cut you a deal but I don't want to give the thing away and I don't want a friend to feel that I "Screwed" him. I'm hoping to sell it soon but I think it's gonna be a few months before the right person comes around to buy it

yeah Calgary is a funny market to sell in... definitely a buyers market.

I have no doubt what so ever, that if you're patient, you'll find the right buyer, and get your money out of it.

...on another note;

Jordan, DO NOT show this to your brother;

2008 Chevrolet Cobalt SS-TC Coupe Lease Takeover - Winnipeg Cars For Sale - Kijiji Winnipeg Canada.

Does anyone want a ride to Manitoba?

(hint: do the math on that car)

That sir, is where the deal is to be had.

and IMHO, that's by far the best deal I've seen to date on an SS/TC.

...and I'm pretty sure that most people who financed their cars were paying right around that amount (or more) a month.

If you only have one car...
If you make decent money, and are responsible...
then it's totally doable...

but there have been many people who seemed to get in trouble, and go deep in the red with $500/month car payments...

or have you not read threads on CSS akin to this??

It's leased. There is a good chance there will be a nice balloon payment at the end still

I'm paying $474/mo for my 08 TC. It's financed, but at the time, they were promoting financing and discouraging leases. Financing at the time was the way to go. Any leases from 07-08 are probably going to be fairly steep.

Still you wont be paying much more on that lease @ just over $400 for a what? a few months? a year? (I didn't see if he said how much time was remaining on the lease) Then finance the buyout. Heck, you'll probably be getting a smokin deal.

yep he spelt it out;

Approx 1 year remaining on lease with $8800 buyout at the end if wanting to keep vehicle. Lease payments are approx. $425/month
$425 x 12 months + $8,800 = $13,900

the only wild card is "approximate" ~ so it could be (in my mind's eye) 10-13 months...

I think this is par for the course.

Many people (even outside of CSS) whom I spoken to who leased, or did payments, were all looking at payments of about this much...

^^^this.

I'm pretty sure this is the best deal I've EVER come across on an SS/TC.

congrats on three fronts!

1) you're back in town ~ I've totally given up trying to keep track of when you are, or are not here!

2) you got that sub enclosure from Jordan, and got it in & working!!

3) you coaxed Steve out of hiding!! ~ maybe you can bring him out to one of our meets?

Really?

...Steve ~ what kind of beer would entice you to look at my computer?
I think something is wrong with the motherboard or hardware wise... I can't use it to connect to the internet ~ and my network info suggests something is wrong...

**Are you hear/reading this Steve?**

does tequila "age"?

I have this little bottle... and have had it for a number of years...

I'm thinking that since I've kept it out of direct sunlight, that is should still be pretty potent...

aside from that, I have a bottle of red whine that's been aging in my basement...

yup, I don't drink - both were gifts.
