I'm glad you had a good time - and that the round trip was uneventful(?)...
But why two years?
if you wanna move somewhere - move.
it's not like you're needing a green card, or gov't papers to move... because if I could I'd move stateside to somewhere totally devoid of snow

The plus side is I have a place to live for at least 6 months the DAY I feel like moving, so that part is cased =)
Im taking baby steps
ooooops did it again.....

I too prefer the original series over the movie(s)... and I have every season on DVD to prove it.
I have both the original 'Gone in 60 seconds' as well as the remake;
There was actually a couple other Haliki movies - that I have which were VERY similar to 'Gone In 60 Seconds'...
Some other notable car movies are "Gumball Rally" or "Smokey & The Bandit";
The latter of the two was more a comedy than a car movie...
But my all time favorite car movie is this one;

Two-Lane Blacktop - Rotten Tomatoes
I bought it on DVD when it FIRST came out - before I even had a DVD player!
Movie Info
A '55 Chevy takes on a '70 GTO in a race across the Southwest in Monte Hellman's cult favorite. The Driver (James Taylor) and the Mechanic (Dennis Wilson) phlegmatically slouch from race to race, pitting their gray Chevy against any and all gearheads in order to make money for gas and food. They and the tag-along Girl (Laurie Bird) meet their match in "Oh Maybelline" fan GTO (Warren Oates), and they all set off on a cross-country race to Washington D.C., with the winner getting the loser's car. But it isn't the end that really counts; it is the process of getting there, as the Girl's fickleness forces the Driver to decide what matters more: endless races or her. Shot on location from a spare script by Rudolph Wurlitzer and Will Corry, Two-Lane Blacktop was trumpeted as the "film of the year" in Esquire magazine before its release. It bombed, and disputes over music rights kept it from home video until 1999, but repertory and TV screenings have gained it an avid following for its automotive detail, flashes of authentic idiosyncrasy, and artfully abstract examination of the urge to forge ahead, whether or not there is anywhere to go. ~ Lucia Bozzola, Rovi

'Cannonball Run' was good (I have that one too) - but it was (even) more of a comedic take on it pre-successor 'Gumball Rally';
The Gumball Rally (1976) trailer - YouTube
I have alot of the better car movies...
I even have some movies simply because certain cars appear in them

see all they did was take 3 differen't names for the same thing and made 3 differen't movies/shows...we all know that a cannonball run, gumball rally and a bullrun are all the same thing in the real world.

I believe the original event was actually called "the cannonball";
IIRC the 'Gumball Rally' movie was titled as such as to not attract attention to the original event (and their organizers)...
The original Cannonball started in New York (somewhere), and ended up at (iirc) the Redondo Beach pier.
The "Bullrun" was a similar deal, but setup different with check points (with rests), and not a "fastest from point A to point B" type race....
The Cannonball was totally illegal, the Bullrun was done under the premise of being legal.

but no.
I am unaware of a steelie being more than 6" wide.
It's possible that you could find an aftermarket steelie @ 17x7, or 18x7 - but's I'm really doubting that you will find one at 8.5" wide.
charlie sheen starred in it..... ya way back when he had hair.....
i really dont know how we forgot this lil dude but really maybe the most famous car ever
