yup.
you never finished up your tune with me...
and iirc your tune was initially ordered for a M62 & 2.6" ~ then you went to a TVS & 3" which was deemed close enough to use the same "base", which we fine tuned, in anticipation of you downsizing your pulley this spring...
You're HPT now right?

I'm supposed to be. I bought Joel's HP tuners end of may or beginning of June and I still havent received it yet. I'm not sure what the future of the cobalt is and nothing is probably going to get done until spring since I still haven't put it back together yet.

nope, I didn't notice it;
I wouldn't say it's not worth the time;
when you're pushing a boosted car, and you're going to regularly run a gasoline that is vastly different from what it was set up for then yes;
but with small changes (as in ALL the canadian pump gas), your ECM does already compensate for the small variation in octane rating.
87-89-91-94
as I've understood it so far, a naturally aspirated (<10:1 compression) engine simply doesn't make enough heat to worry about knock, or the ECM's ability to compensate in pump gasoline differences.
now with boosted engines you can quickly make too much heat for lower octane gasoline - which in turn necessitates a "minimum" octane gasoline to use;
with respect to E85 (85% ethanol, 15% gasoline) the fuel tables need to be vastly changed from that of regular gas - you need to run much richer with the E85 ~ which could be out of spec for the CC rating, and available duty cycle of the injector used.
does that sound sensible?

also, not many people realize it, but canadian regulations do not *require* the gasoline actually be as it's advertised;
it can be several points lower than the rating at the pump.
if you look at the fine print on the pumps - some of them actually spell this out.
lol its funny you said if i had problems to give ya a shout..... well expect a call in the morn hahahahaha i ooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooppppppppppppppppppps sssssssssssssssssssssssss...... i hope things will be fine in the morn but in case it isnt i might need you to pop over after work..... i need a interceptor.....
i will probally try autovalue in the morn and if all else falls thats when you get the call.... i think i blew a sensor somewhere...... tossed a code in limp mode as we speak..... car is at the shop..... it was a funny thing coz blacksmoke was just saying this thing pulls hard and yep you get the picture....

I can also pop by at lunch tomorrow.
the trifecta software has a pretty good scanner...
not as good as the HPT deal, but at least as good as any aftermarket generic scanner.

ya i will shoot u a pm tomorow lol i am so sorry hahahahahaahahahah but when it happened i was squeeling like a school girl....... so you know at least it cant be to serious coz im grinning ear to ear......
If its an LNF, i put mine into limp mode with a NLS from 1st to 2nd the first day that I was tuned. I just did a battery reset and it was fine after that. I have had a couple misfires if Im shifting high in the rpm band at the track, but thats probably due to the stock plugs. Gotta find me some -2 plugs somewhere's.
If its an LSJ... well there's your problem

lol well i am still smiling so its a lsj..... and ya disconnection of the battery didnt work..... not sure if i should risk driving it to autovalue...... and i think its best if i wait for jonathan to come over when he can lol..... i pretty sure i blew the o2 or camshaft position sensor..... lol at least thats our guess.....

let's face it, it's not like I have to drive half-way across town to get to you ~ so it's no bother.
I probably won't be able to stick around long though, I'm a little behind the ball with work today.
