The way that GM does it is, as problems are identified, and as seen fit the 'factory' tune is updated/tweaked/changed, and when a car goes in for mechanical service tech will reflash when made aware of the need;
I didn't personally observe a change with my fan 'on' spot from stock - then again, my car was probably built a year after yours, and went in for major mechanical repairs twice, then had GMS1 flashed, all before Trifecta;
All trifecta tunes are built off the specific tune that GM says is the correct one for that car at tge time where the order is placed...

I was also wondering if a temp sensor was maybe on the fritz....
I absolutly understand where you are coming from brother
my stock tune was update a couple times at the dealer over the first few years before i tuned it with superchips, and even then i would flash back for the dealer visit. so it should be at least a 2010 updates in there.

I noticed right away the fan was turning on at an earlier temp.
From what i have read online my temps are on the high side but within top range of the ok limit.
Since the flush she is running a bit cooler
Its very possible that the sensor is going (can always swap out one to test it
My car is starting to push the 5 year mark i expect to be replacing a few things

The water is what cools the engine. If you ran a 50/50 mix you would have better cooling. The glycol is what keeps it from freezing and cracking your block.

I believe 50/50 is good from -37 to 129

50/50 is good for those numbers (-37 to 129 )

70/30 is -64 to 135

I run 50/50 and I see 88 as my high temp. Try removing your weather stripping that seals the rear of the hood to the engine bay. I see 83 while driving down the highways with that gone

but the trade off is it doesnt cool the engine as well as a higher water/glycol mix

anyway you can move air through the engine compartment without disturbing aerodynamics is a bonus.... this comes in hand specially with sc cars.... one of the best cooling mods we can do is get vented hood.... too bad most consider aftermarket hoods a "ricer" add on.... when the truth is that, they do alot more good for performance then appearance....

watching nascar and racing in general for the better portion of the last 15yrs has taught me somethings....

I saw this TC at my gym in the summer and fell in love with his hood. Got to talking with him and he wouldn't give me much info where he got it from. But said there wasn't many made wherever it was that he got it. If I could find this hood I'd be all over it.

I see his car around from time to time. I should just steal it lol. I really like it because its low key, looks great and would function really well with a SC.
