A turbo with 4.05 or 4.45 would come out of a corner good with the short gears I think just need R compounds

How so? I ditched my TVS for a turbo. I'm completely unbiased. I love both. I'm telling you what works best for the application you want to do.

I thought you were a big S/C guy but had bad luck so went turbo. Thanks for all the advice tho I know very little about the LSJ I just want it to rev to 7000rpm and not have cooling issues so I can make laps thats all. You guys are saying the M62 will work great and I know I can find used parts for that I just want min 350hp or so. Its going to be a totally stripped race car I don't need or want a ton of HP

Haha nah I just went turbo because I was pushing my TVS too hard on pump gas. The thing you also should remember is the linear powerband of a supercharged car makes up for hp of a turbo. Where a turbo starts to fall off on top a blower keeps pulling. So try not to let dyno numbers cloud your head too much. A blower has power exactly on tap when you need it and that helps a ton road racing. Going back to what mark said before the time attack cobalt beat down cars much bigger in it's class with much less power. John Powell is all about auto cross and he swears by the TVS.

it will pull all the way to 7000 with no let off. if i was to guess, i think i have about 280 to the wheels. 280 is deceiving coz it gets down the road like a 300 hp turbo would. thats the meaty power curve we are talking about that the sc has. plus it sounds way cooler doing it lol. remember the meat of my boost goes all the way from 1800 all the way to 7000 rpm.

like jon said with a lil valve train work you can rev to 7500/7800 rpm. so that will mean you have solid boost from about 1800 all the way to 75/7800rpm.

Thats a little on the high side. You would probably make 280whp with meth and a custom tune. I made 260whp 225wtq on my 2.8" and meth but fully stock exhaust. Still ran a 13.6@104 on that haha.

My last TVS set up pulled like a freight train all the way to 8000rpm. One of the few things I'm gonna miss.

well my lil m62 doesnt run out of breath. you may not get 350 hp out of it, but you will get consistent power through out the whole gear. thats why i was surprised you said you wanted to turbo convert it for auto cross. i feel you will have more reliable fun if you stayed on a m62, and put a turbo suspension in it.

i wouldnt say that blue, i have done a few things different since you last looked at my mods. we figured i will be close to 290/300 with meth, new tune, and pnp head. thats the plan for this year.

Not autoX, track racing in Edmonton and when the track is done here for sure. For autoX I think a M62 would do great. AutoX is about Traction and putting down the power for sure
