not five years;
I bought my car in February 2010, and I believe he wrote his off two months later...

I think 99% of the rust was there when I got the car later that summer.
i did spray down the engine/front suspension shortly after getting it - so that should have neutralized any road salt left on it...

so 4.8? hahahah i think five years was close enough dont you? he wrote his off slightly before me. regardless having it just sit around for that length of time will make things difficult. at least they are still good parts, and you took care of the hum. just so you know for sure mine was written off in march 2011. i just checked my papers. he did his in 2010 almost 1 year before me

So my clutch is slipping really bad now I'm hoping it's just glazed a bit and will clear up before I head to the dyno. Funny how this happened when I actually started making power and that sucks because my car is so much fun now

From my clutch glazing readings I have done I believe it's because I get stuck in stop and go traffic every day which can't be good on my stage 4 clutch slipping it for 30mins a day like that. I'm going to try and take that out of my daily routine I may order a new disc but I'm going to try and miss that traffic and helping you out will be easy to do

ok, incase you guys didn't know this I'll share what I learnt today;
According to cross referance at both AutoValue, and Rock Auto, our hubs are supposed to be the same thing for all five bolt (four wheel disc; RPO 'JL9') cars, but at the least the LNF cars use different hubs...
I just pulled a set off of an LE5 car, only to find out that the cv shaft is smaller - so they do not interchange.

LNf axles are thicker and have a different spline than lsj's and all the others lol

I could have saved you the hassle of researching

I'm thinking about pulling my trans (again) to inspect my clutch and take off any glazing that's on there. All I want is it to last this summer.

I'm thinking get it machined and get them to take off a tiiny bit more on the shoulder to make up for wear and I'll be golden

Kevin, do you have a fidanza flywheel?

If you're popping it out, I'd encourage you to reconsider running it...

If you're doubting me, you should see my Fidanza flywheel...
I'm thankfull that it didn't destroy my transmission when it let go (like they have done to others)...

You told me you had problems with yours before. How did it break I've seen Jon's but that was a clutch spring I heard

Mine broke after about 18 months of use;
the center hub sheared itself off.

I don't currently have access to my pictures, but from a single quick google search I found these;
Name:  flywheel2.jpg
Views: 10
Size:  66.2 KB

mine looks like the first picture.

My flywheel was a spec aluminum one and it was a pressure plate spring that decided it didn't want to do what it was supposed to do anymore

Ya I've seen that at Mark's but that wasn't anything to do with the flywheel
