Here, a small recap;

On CED I saw the LSJ setup, or the LNF setup... nothing else.

I believe the GMPP "upgrade" set for he LSJ, is essentially the LNF clutch sold for the LSJ;

Cobalt Transmissions
then again I posted;

I'd wager that the clutch disc is the directly interchangeable betwen LNF & LSJ;
our output shafts are the same, but iirc it's the flywheels that are different - which may, or may not preclude a different TOB.
...
As my last couple posts indicated, this is what I was thinking, and why I pulled the trigger last night to try to get a replacement here asap...

My stock LSJ clutch held up to my TVS 2.7 setup with many track launches and still looked good when I pulled it out
Thanks!

I got an email this morning from CED that the package is already on route ~ which is a heck of alot better that "at least a week out" for paying over double for hte same stuff at hte dealership next door...

Theonly GMPP clutch listed on CED's site is this one;
Ecotec LSJ Clutch Upgrade Kit 19212712

Here are two notes on the description:
This kit is capable of up to 300 hp and will give users better performance and more load capability because of increased surface area and extra clamping force.
The kit includes a heavy-duty clutch, pressure plate,throw out bearing, and bolts that are designed for easy remove and-replace service.
GMS1 is rated 290/320 on the HHR-SS which is the same as us, except for a "restriction in the intake" ~ and most of you should recall that GMS2 was in the works, and nearly released when GM hit financial troubles, and it died near release.

...and then there's this;
(*Do not use this kit for LNF vehicles)
Probably because of the wrong TOB... ???

assuming it's the one I mentioned last night, and then linked just a coupel moments ago, is there any hard proof that this GMPP clutch (disc at least) is different than the LNF clutch (disc)?

I see pictures often on CED that are obviously the wrong part, or used for multiple listings, so I personally won't put much weight in a generic picture.

This might all be moot, but it might be nice to know for the future.

Theses no proof that it's an LNF clutch Jon. From the research ive done and read it's a clutch out of the Saab turbo car.

ok.

Thanks!

Do you know what was the Saab Turbo car was rated at?
(this might speak to the torque capacity of this clutch; we know that the LNF clutch is rated AT LEAST for 320 ft-lbs)

Well the gmpp clutch is only rated at 300. But guys have pushed wayyy more than that out of them without issue. It's a proven clutch with a great bang for the buck. LNF guys do upgrade to them.

Don't let a torque rating scare you. The stage 2 F40 clutch is rated at 310 ft/lbs, and stage 4 at 400 ft/lbs, which means mine is probably rated sub 300, and I'm shoving ~470 ft/lbs through it

its so hard to tell without one beside you. i know its close but you never know for sure til you line up. if i can beat a tuned lnf it is only because i can rev til 7000 and hold 15lbs+. the big wheel changes the game.

btw kevin i may not have to go check out that room. i will call you when i know for sure.
