I changed it earlier this year, and was shocked with how much particulate was on the magnetic drain plug, and how the fluid looked like metal flake paint...
So......
I did a drive through the dealer's lot after work...
The bay door was open - and my car wasn't in it!?!!
I got to drive my car home!
... I just got back in from adjusting the cables.

Also, my old clutch still looked quit good - especially considering it has almost 150,000 km's!
The new transmission came "loaded" c/w a new TOB - so I have a brand new TOB, and a god useable 'spare' clutch.

Ya from almost half the size of the engine too it's funny when people think they win just because they have a "better" car like that guy with the bmw

You've also complained to me many time on how much easier you can make power with the LNF than the LSJ
your drunk you just finished saying how you want a f35 lsj tranny. easier doesn't mean better. same applies with a girl, if she is easy better strap a 2x4 to you. if not then its muuuuuuuuuuuuuch better.

Ya my next trans will be a 4.05. I hope it'll be better to hold the power. I actually want a f40 but that's a lot of cash dollars
its nice to know I am not always wrong hahahahahahaha I believe it would be better for you, seems like a lot of those mericans run the f35. I am starting to think we should be stocking trannies. it sounds like it could get harder to find them in the future.
so you haven't slept yet? I got work today, then after gonna go soak in that mineral salt water hot tub. I could never understand why people say ewwwww to hot tubs. specially one that's in such a well maintained place like the fairmount. there is a race tonight on the tube. I want to watch it. it should be done around 930 I maybe willing to come out for some runs after. your even welcome to come over to watch the race if you wish. I will talk to sean today to see whats up.
the weather is so nice I think we need to get one more night in. it would be nice to see the bird show up too

from what I've understood, the SS/TC's specifically recieved a 3.82 (vs OEM 4.05, or non-OEM 4.45) because the lower the FDR the more torque multiplication, which means more stress on lower gears - GM seemed to expect these sars to have a hard life.
The HHR/SS's all recieved the SC's 4.05.
I personally don't believe the F40 is an upgrade;
I heard that it was dicontinued in the G6-GT because of being a higher friction transmission;
and iirc it actually has a lower torque rating than the F35.
I believe it all comes down to being vigilant on maintaining, and not abusing - the F35 seems to not like being shifted too fast...

The 3.82 was also coupled with the LNF because of the lower rev limit so the gears didn't end up being shorter. The 4.05 holds up better in higher hp and tq simply because of the shorter gearing not causing it to load up as much. Same reason the 4.45 holds up even better. The reason the F40 seems to be stronger is because of the dual input shaft design as opposed to a single, so it allows much less flex, which keeps the gears nice and mated to each other during high load scenarios rather than allowing the gears to pull apart slightly which creates slop and less clean contact if the teeth aren't making full face contact with each other. I have only ran my F40 for about 6k miles so far at 500+whp up to 600whp, but so far all seem well. It will be interesting to see how it holds up in the future. I know my friend's 4.45 F35 has been holding up for about 5k miles on his 480whp LNF, and his stock F35 held up to 430whp for about 2 years.
