I'll take it. I have the shitty ass JBody Performance 3 inch "Vortex" intake, and I'd like to see how my car'll run with a good intake, and one that actually fits.

Why don't you just get someone here to tune your car?

That's an old episode. I think they blow a massive oil leak on the dyno or something.

This one is not the most perfect fit either. The filter hits the inside of the fender. To tell you the honest truth don't think we will ever have the perfect CAI. If you want it it's yours. What is wrong with your 3". I did paint mine blue so you may want to repaint it. It does have some scratches that's why I am selling it cheep.

Let me know if you are still interested in the intake. I may even just let you have it to get it out of my hair.

I have a good ZZP starter tune I could share. It runs really well for a canned tune. One thing I would suggest though is some VE and MAF tuning just to tweak the tune some.

Yeah. The tubing on mine pushes the fender liner out like 2 inches, and it barely fits around the rest of the engine bay. It rubs against the edges, and against the pcm and the reservoir. I'm not sure, but I think it also messes with the maf a little too. It's the biggest piece of crap. It's really just a bunch of 3 inch black metal tube pieces with rubber tube connectors with hose clamps and a k&n filter. The only parts worse than it I've seen are the other parts I got from them.

When does your new intake come in? Does it fit the engine bay properly?

I wouldn't mind snagging that tune off you too, just to have another tune to compare with.

Yeah.
The Injen does fit quit allot better than you discribe. It does have a couple of wear spots but only because it was not adjusted properly when I first bought the car. I then sanded it down and re-painted it blue to match my MRZ dress-up under the hood. Take a look in my gallery and you'll see a pic.

If you really want it its yours for some tips on tuning if I need any.

My new intake is supposed to be shipped next week sometime as it has to be fabricated. So I would say you could have it in a couple of weeks tops.

Sounds good. Tips are always free; I'm more than happy to help out where I can.

Let me know when you are getting ready to get rid of it.

I will need some tips on repainting it, cuz the blue may not go well with my silver.

btw, do you have an hp interface?

I have HPT on my laptop. The cable I use is Chris (spaz). I paid him like 300 bucks for credit and the ability to use it whenever I want if he is not using it himself.

Yah. I could always sand it down and repaint it. Its not very hard. i would also suggest after painting it let it cure for a few days before you install it. Just buy the paint and I could do it for you no prob.

I will keep you up to date on when my new CAI gets shipped.

Yeah. I like the idea of powder coating. Where would I get that done for a decent price, or what kind of equipment would I need to do it myself?

I just used paint I picked up from Wally mart. I think it was Dupli. I will check tomorrow. What color are you thinking.

Sam Is Right you could just get it powder coated.

You cannot powder coat by yourself. It is a process that electrically bonds the paint to the surface being painted I believe. The paint particles are charged I think.

Ok. I'm gonna do black. I might clear coat it too, just for some shine and longevity.

I don't think I'll bother with powder coating the intake. If it was my valve cover or supercharger then yes, but an intake I can just repaint if it ever gets bad.

How the hell does the injen fit for one person, and not for another?

Where did you get it powder coated?

The first gen injen was just about an inch to long and thats why it rubs the fender. The K&N filter comes powder coated.

I don't think you can because of the connector that connects it to the fender well.

It just looks like sex persona fide. These are hand made I think and they claim that there are no fitment issues and there made in CANADA. Only time will tell.
