Actually a buddy of mine worked there - then bailed just before they closed their south shop... did you by chance know Colin?
iirc he's at CMP right now.
Actually he just finished more schooling, and I messaged him asking if he's ever worked on Cobalt SS's...
I'm a dyed in the wool old car guy, so I haven't let it slip to him that I just bought an LNF-Cobalt...

ha-ha-ha!!!
the 2nd last I met up with him in Calgary, was when I was at tom's house of pizza across macleod from McKay/****-south...
I met up with him in '07 in BC last year at a mutual friends wedding, then again last year when he popped by my house after my brother called him for advice...
what's really funny is learning more about your friends from acquaintances on a web site...

ya i know eh. this isn't the first time this has happened to me. i know a fair amount of people lol. did you ever bring your car into **** south for servicing?

no, I've NEVER had anyone work on any of my cars... ever.
then agian having a new car is totally new territory for me...
this is actually great...
now when I do the Stage-1 install, maybe I can have Colin do the flash... I would prefer having someone I know/trust do anything on this car...
After talking last year with the service manager & parts manager at Jack Carter (a couple blocks from me) I wold be VERY hard pressed to have them do anything...
I would prefer to either have the service work done @ ****, or by a buddy of mine in L.A.... this would be a mix of the two;
unfortunately I misplaced his number about a year ago... now I'm going to have to look it up.
EDIT:
this has made my night...
I just left a message with a mutual friend because I lost Colin's cell...
If you want to be nice, you could PM me his cell number - last time I called his parents place for his cell they acted like I was some kind of miscreant and gave me the 3rd degree...
I'll avoid that awkwardness thanks very much.

actually i don't have his cell number lol, i can get it though but you'll have to wait till tomorrow.
and ya carters is kinda iffy, i know some of the techs there and they are alright but the shop in a whole is iffy. now **** on the other hand i know all of the techs there personally and they are all good techs where they don't screw ya around. they do their jobs and if they see something that is responsible for the fault and you are trying to claim warranty they will say no but they will back it up with a reason and explain it to you, not just say no your warranty is void bullshit.

yeah I had understood that loud & clear from service & parts at Jack Carter... they actually lost a potential sale because of it.
I messaged Colin, but know he doesn't get online much...
I guess it's not the end of the world here, but I was debating on having a friend (who works at a Caddy dealer in LA) order the stage1 @ cost, and have him do the install in spring...
But if Colin is cool with this (I already messaged him yesterday alluding to it), I'll just order the stage kit myself, do the install in a parking lot not too far ****, then arrange to have Colin finish it up...
this is sweet.
too bad I just found out the LSJ-Cobalt SS wheels I just found won't work for winter treads.. bummer

When I came here I had no immediate plans to buy a Cobalt...
Mostly I have liked them from day one, and had vowed very early last year to eventually own an LNF Cobalt...
First half of my sig;
The pic is from last year @ Race City driving my "slow" car (1991 Quad4HO Grand Am), and spanking (quite awesomely if I do say so myself) one of Nate's cocky little buddies... (Rene??)
Both him & Nate said his car was faster than mine - the kid even took it further in person by talking up his car infront of my brother after I was being very courteous to him at Race City - so before agreeing to race, I made him agree to three races...
I've seen him a couple times since, and for some reason he hasn't ever talked to me agian!
The sig picture stays - I mean who would really have a sig showing them get beat-on by a 20yo FWD n/a 4cylinder Pontiac!?!
Second half of my sig;
Then last week (Tuesday night to be exact) I wandered into Shagannappi to get a 2010 brochure and see what they were asking for either of their two Rally Yellow '09 Cobalt SS's;
Was talking to one of the sales managers, he told me the price, gave a financing optin, and I went home to sleep on it.
Then last week Wednesday, I went in took one of the cars for a test drive... and ended up putting a deposit down...
Thursday the person who had dibs, backed out of the car;
Friday I cut a cheque for the car on my lunch break, it was prepped, and I picked it up that evening...
So, the Yellow CSS.net add-on is because that's my brand freaking new DD...
(and I had said in the past that I'd never own new!)
make sense?
If you happen to talk to Colin, please don't tell him I bought this car...
I'd like to tell him myself. (this purchase has surprised the **** out of just about everyone I know)
Well there you have it... I've either managed to make some of you laugh out loud, or pissed you off... I'm hoping for the former, and not the latter
EDIT:
btw, I posted up here to see if people would object to my sig pic, and everyone who posted in my thread seemed to be cool with it, and think it was funny...
I also posted again when I bought the new car.
