are you serious!?

so he got beat... who cares!?

I thought I was nice enough...

I helped him figure out how to read the time slips, which wasn't helped because the track was screwed on our second run;
- on our 2nd run he nailed his launch, and I screwed up by launching too high & boiling my tires...
- the time board showed him winning as soon as we started, but after the 1/8 mile, nothing was recorded for his side of the track...
He thought he beat me on the 2nd run purely because of the "win" printed on the slip...
If you looked at the e/t's & mph at the eighth mile (and what not) it was apparent that I was ahead of him by that point...

I also have a vid, showing that his e/t & mph didn't show up on the board - and from where my brother was standing recording the run, he mistakenly thought Rene won purely because of the win light... and my goobered launch...

I didn't mean to deflate Rene's ego (if that's what happened) from telling him he actually lost on round two... he understandably though he won because he couldn't read the time slip, and it said he won...

EDIT:
for the record;
On my first run of our three, I was in the fifteens.
My fastest run was the third (iirc / this one is pictured in my sig / my fastest definitely wasn't the 2nd! )
That was the last time I went to race city with my regular street tires - I have always gone with a drag radial since then.

if a guys brags up he is going to spank your car and he loses royally. this means one of three things: 1 he should have shut the freak up when he had the chance. 2 learn more about cars. 3 he better pull out the bank book and start investing money into some real hp. then if he doesnt get over it after he loses. he is plain and simple being a loser. moral of the story is never judge the book by its cover!!!! one last thing to add respect is earned not given!!!!

well thats like one of the runs i had at race city. got lined up with an truck that looked pretty beat up. figured he had some stuff done to it and was out for a good time. turned out the damn thing ran 11's lol. see the difference between rene, nathan and me is i know when i can win a race and when i can't. i also race because i enjoy it (on the track of course). i also don't care if you beat me, if you beat me great i'll give you props for a good race and start talking about your car. no sense in getting butt hurt about losing a race. not like you lost your entire life's savings or some other **** over it.

well, I'm glad to read that you guys see my side of things!

I had long considered my closest contemporaries the GM n/a 4cylinder or n/a V6 guys - and have beaten several that weren't in those two groups...
last year though I started nailing my runs, and tweaking my setup just right to get quicker...

I race the Grand Am because it's fun - I have lost many races, and will acknowledge that winning is nice - but the best races are the close ones...
No matter how good of a driver you are, or how fast you are, there is always someone out there who is going to be faster than you - the sooner you realize this fact, the more fun you will be able to have at it...

at least that's my opinion.

don't break out the summers till mid may. mid may you are safe to put the summers back on. anything before that and its still too cold for the summers to get proper traction and it can snow right anytime up till then. atleast thats what i go by.

< derail >

well crapper...

test fitted a set of SS/SC wheels to confirm they don't fit my car tonight

(looking for something for next winter)

would anyone be interested in a set of SS/SC wheels? - the guy seemed nice enough.
OR
would anyone trade SS/2.4 wheels+cash for a set of SS/SC wheels?

I found the tire I'd like to run next winter... and am inclined to sticking with 17" wheels.

do you think Rene would get all hot & bothered over getting a set of 18's?

I mean if he'd trade+cash it would make the swap cheaper for us both...

the SS/SC rims have usable rubber - maybe 30% tread left ~ nothing to write home about, but enough to safely drive around on for a little while...

I saw you!!

does someone here drive a burnt orange* (if that's the name of the colour) LSJ Coblat SS?

*EDIT: possibly "Sunburst Orange"

If so, you had to have seen me - I mean one yellow car in a sea of drab colours...

When:
Aprox 4:45pm

Where were you:
- stopped 2 vehicles back from the light;
- at the intersection of Barlow & 90th Ave;
- heading northbound on Barlow

Where was I:
Turning from 90th Ave onto southbound Barlow

Please speak up if it was you!
