well see if I was the sticker type this would be usefule info...

Maybe this is what Rene needs to beat my Grand Am?
~ I mean he was so sure of himself beforehand*...

Did you take his printed/yellow speed parts Mark??

* = it would be even funnier if he had the capacity to laugh about his own smack talk to begin with...
The first time I saw him (before the Race city meet) he immediately smack talked my car, and gave some e/t's which apparently he had pulled in his car that (iirc) my car still can't beat...

yeah, sure

(actually the first FWD Grand Am body style; around the size of a 95+ J-body, or one a smidge smaller than our Cobalts)

I like Jbodies, especially the 95+ (moreover the Sunfire GT's) - always have.

Their only down fall;
max factory hp rating: 150

(I actually have a perfect running '95 Sunfire GT drivetrain in my garage.)

One of my brothers actually has a sleeper '01 Z24...

imho, a swap which I have not seen, and would make an excellent sleeper;
find a 2002+ 2.2L L61/5spd Z24/GT donor car;
swap in either a StageIII equipped (or better) LSJ drivetrain, or an aftermarket tuned LNF drivetrain.

Shouldn't be too hard... would be understated for sure.

Even in the ohv 2.2 (aka: 2200) they weren't bad cars...

I actually bought a minty '98 2200/5spd coupe in November '08 - did some mechanical repairs, drove it through the winter, sold it April 2009 - that was the only time I've made a penny on the car...
even though I was looking for a couple year newer Sunfire GT or same year Grand Am GT (either had to have the 2.4/5spd drivetrain) to flip, I was kinda sad to see it go...

if anyone is looking for a 2nd car, last I checked our market was saturated with those J-bodies, you can get a great deal on them - one of very few cars you can get a great deal on around here...

not that I have a beef with it, but what made you mention Beretta's with no provocation?

is the getrag a Quad4 one or a V6 one?
what year is it?

what are you doing to the 3400?

I'd wager the manual transmission would make the 3400 a whole different car!

getrag is for the quad.. or id be using it, its the best tranny u can get for the quad actually..

3400 has custom length pushrods, ported head, smaller high torque starter, not crazy.. enough power for the retta!!
the 5spd will wake it right up
even though it came from the factory with the "wrong" engine, it sounds to be a pretty cool little project car;
after any bugs are worked out, I'd love to see what it will do at race city - bone stock the 3400's are supposedly strong 15 second (@ sea level) cars - which is about on par with the 2.3L Beretta's (no jokes), but would make it more driver friendly having more torque...

sorry I can't help you out ~ why not just make one yourself?

they're all made of MDF board with fabric/vinyl pulled over... can't be too terribly intense.

the 3400 is good for 15s in a heavy ass grand am beretta weighs about 500lbs less.. and the 5spd wakes this car up beyond belief.. picking up a turbo kit here pretty quick for it too

you gotta play fair so that I have a shot against you at Race City!

since I'm staying n/a my GA will remain @ aprox 160ft-lbs torque...
