yikes! ~ court!?!
good luck.
changing the subject ever so slightly;
http://streetwheelers.com/
Ok, I realize our cars are most assuredly not the target audience for the weekend (my Grand Am has been scoffed at when I brought it but hey, its a Gran-damn!?! );
But what do any of you think about motoring down to Lethbridge for the Street Wheelers weekend?
I havent checked out more than the Friday night cruise for the last couple years, but I understand there is often a slalom track on the Sunday; in addition to the 60 foot dash on Saturday (I wouldnt be surprised if the 60ft was closed to V8/rwd, but the slalom should be open to fwd cars)
Info on linked page; ignore the registration fees, it's for their big event on each day;
the event on friday is the (closed loop) cruise
the event for saturday is the 100ft dash
the (primary) event for sunday is he S&S downtown.
FYI: The closed loop cruise is pure BS (the real cruise is now pretty much along Mayor Magrath - and can occasionally be quite funny) - IMHO the highlight of the weekend is the unofficial cruising on Friday night - some seriously nice cars make it out to that...
What do you guys/gals think?
We could always book a room somewhere, and pile in with sleeping bags ect to make it cheap
good luck.

what would be ideal (if something happens), is for us to all meet up friday evening lets say at a fast food joint in Midnapore (I say midnapore because that's steve's hood), then all grab some grub (to go) and caravan it out to Lethbridge on friday to partake in the cruising ect*...
*I normally try to find a good spot along Mayor Magrath, park, and setup the lawn chairs...
If we had a whole line of Cobalt's parked along MM I'd wager it would get other Cobalt/FWD car's attention...

just be forewarned the weekend is geared towards V8/RWD crowd ~ moreover the Musclecar crowd (just look at the 100' rules, there is no mention of I-4);
we would be fine at the cruise (which is probably the funnest part), and the one time I checked out the slalom, most of the cars there were either import or FWD...

the funniest one I ever saw (Yeah, I know this doesn't exactly built up the cruise so well) was some kids in a k-car trying to get into it with a cardboard/duct-tape/tin-foil blower stuck to their hood! ~ had to do a double take, and man oh man we laughed at those kids!
the saturday night cruise is ok, but not nearly as good as the (unofficial) cruise on friday;
the 'official' cruise on friday is an absolute joke, and imho, only r-tards pay to do a couple KM circle cruise along the east end of 3rd ave...
back in the day (as in early 1970's) the cruise "strip" in Lethbridge was from one A&W to another, then back;
One A&W was on the south end of Mayor Magrath (no longer there; roughly where the 7-11 is now - right by the movie mill), and the other A&W was on the end of 3rd ave (also no longer there; roughly where the Macdonalds now is iirc);
both were drive-in's...
after the official cruise is over (10pm) - the cruising again goes back to it's old route along MM, then along 3rd ave - but there are no defined stops at the ends - only many many parking lots in which to stop along the way...
FYI: my mom is from Lethbridge, and to this date she is the only one from her family who moved away...
I have family there, but no one who would let a bunch of us come & go at all hours, or let us crash there for night...

I'm in, just keep me updated... knowing our luck this year we're guaranteed rain. Was really nice weather last year and I swung by to check out some of the stuff, but the cops laid a beat down on both Friday and Saturday nights. I bet that will real turn people off this year. Nicest car I saw last year was a Gallardo convertible, I know for sure in town we now have a black ZR1, matte LP560-4, silverish DB9, and a silver R8. That's all I've ever seen here, so hopefully some of em make it out.

FYI: I have most of the time taken this car to streetwheelers;
(picture taken on LCC property circa '99 while I was attending full time)
but for roughly the last five years it has been retired from street use;
I have taken this one a couple times;
(original lethbridge car, purchased off a street wheelers member circa '97 iirc)
but it too needs some proper care & attention;
last year I took the gran-damn - and frankly I wouldn't be surprised if I made a couple scoff-jaws along MM crap their pants... (gunning it at a light after hearing them heckle my car about something like "I think that car needs a spark plug")

(listen to the video to understand why they heckled about my car needing a spark plug)
