personal preference. get whoever to tune you. i have a few guys i will use. i won't use trifecta though. just because i like to be able to make changes at will and not have to wait for a retune file to be sent to me

@ Kris;
forget pricing - this is where it gets fun.
buy a head porting kit, or supplies to recreate it;
research head porting on the internet;
dive in.

you have a different level of satisfaction from doing it yourself, than farming it out (not to mention you save money in the end too).

just goes to show that there is so much potential with these motors and my "pipe dream" of 300n/a hp is not so unrealistic. and a good tune does wonders. and people that are blowing clutches in 10,000km's or less and blowing motors at a mere 250hp are not getting tuned properly. knock, afr and iat's are not the only thing that you need to monitor when tuning. i've mentioned before that those are just starters. egt's play a huge part in longevity of your vehicle. as well as maintaining proper oil pressure.

and p.s no graham that was not a shot at you and your clutch. just stating that these clutches can take more then 10,000km's and last. its not the clutch that's weak its the people driving them that don't know how to drive standard in the first place.

Speaking of clutchs I just picked up a Excedy one tonight with Kris. Maybe one day I'll be able to put it in

also

Teejay you still got those stock #34 injectors? I would like to pick those up off you. I have an idea

Ill let you know right now, if Rob is telling you he is Vince's direct dealer in Canada, he is 110% wrong with that information.

I wont knock other trifecta dealers, but if they are going around saying they are the Canadian dealer and such...Its almost validating a phone call to Vince tomorrow asking him wtf?

first of all my turn for the 2 cents... anything is possible with any n/a motor... if you ask me in the first place all of us s/c and tc should have had a 2.4 to start with.... all i am saying is it is alot easier to get power with a power adder.... now as for tuning... this isnt a knock against trifecta, however there are 2 extremely good tuners in ab using hpt... what coz they dont post as much anymore, you believe they are not any good? pls all of us albertians know that these 2 tuners are some of the best around...

on a side note i need to know who's coming to ella's bday supper on sunday? pls let me know...

Mark - sunday the 24th?

back to cars;
the reason why they didn't start with the larger displacement motor is that when you move away from natural aspiration, and go to boost, it makes the engine act as though it is of larger displacement.
I think the highest HP Quad4 I have heard of was based on a destroked (from 2.3L) 2.0L motor that put out something like 1300hp.

I'm pretty sure this is the logic to using the 2.0L displacement over the 2.4L summed up into three easy to understand points;

Less stroke & smaller bore -> less torsional vibrations at higher rpm's -> longer crank/rod/main bearing/rod bearing life

(of course you can build upon, or add to all three points, but like I said, I was tying to sum it up)

P.S. - Did anyone notice/read my post from last night? LINK

I only ask because I feel it's important, and needs to be passed along.
I'm disappointed that this message was circulated so late on;
This morning they were saying that the "smooth talker" (a term one of my co-workers uses to refer to Nensi; but he's still voting for him anyway) is in the lead in the latest polls.
As nice of a guy as he might seem, I feel the position is best suited for someone with experience - someone who has in my opinion proven to be trustworthy, someone who has supported motorsports in Calgary.

you can come grab them anytime you want.

On a side note, to the people questioning the ability of tuners in AB, Mark has been tuning my car for 2 years now and you wont find someone who is more concerned about preserving the engine to ensure you do not blow up, he is knowledgable and strives to pull as much power as possible out of the engine. I you do not have experience with him dont talk bad about his tuning. I wouldnt trust my car with someone who comes by the city every once and a while vs someone who is a phone call away....that is all i will say

Its important, but soundjunky you cant keep pushing for people to vote for who you want them too. Some people just dont care. Every one is intitled to there opinion.

Yes it would suck if racecity was shut down, but I guess the veiws of the many out way those of the few. In that case maybe a new race city is in order, maybe by donations of private investment.

I am a big believer in not relying on government for hand outs. Race city should go buy some of there own land and build.

thats my 2cents
