with my strategy, you're setting the bar low...
so if anyone should actually see it, they would be impressed with it...
or better yet;
you should clean it up, and paint a huge mural on the side...
then get Mark to put a vinyl fake window on the back quarter panel...
then you can get some pedo-bear vinyls for the back windows...
you should name it (and the mural);
"Gettin 'er done"

double meaning...
it could mean about getting work done...
or it could be elluding to you being a perv...
no one would know...
I think it would be freaking AWESOME!!

Graham, you know deep down you REALLY want ot do this...
Heck, you could get away with a big vinyl instead of actual airbrushing...
Ok, all joking aside, since you're a small business, I'd for sure encourage you to clean up the van, and put the company name on it...
anything to attract attention would help your bottom line...

I remeber when Pete the Plumber first came out...
with the marvel comic charectures on his van, he stood out like a sore thumb - and imho, was pretty freaking cool way to stand out...
I don't doubt that one of the things that built his business were the comic charectures on his van, and people remembering that... then calling him for pricing...
he seems to have gotten ALOT bigger in the last ten or so years.

Oh I love how "pete" did that, then got sued for 13MILLION FROM MARVEL!!!! they threatened to put him sooo far under the ground...... bottom line is he cried for mercy and they fined him i think 1.3mil and he had to change his logo, that is why the hulk is Blue on his trucks, and if you look now he does not have ANY superheros on his vans, all of them are made up charactors

I also suspected that the Hulk was the wrong colour because of copyright infringement...
I'd wager based on the number of PTP vehicles out there, he's paid off that 1.3, and is doing well...
It was a great idea - and is a great example of how having some fun while decorating a company vehicle benefits the small business owner.

Well right now he just has a plain white work van;
there's nothing wrong with it, but even a simple company name & phone number would be a good idea... that's really all i'm getting at...
But making the van stand out would be even better...
You could do the "Gettin 'er done" theme, and put a plumbing spin on it... then have your phone number...
the pedobear in the back window (although funny) is optional...

I think that if you show some creativity, and have some fun, that it would pay off by making you stand out...
but that's just my $0.02
