Are you modded? You have an SS/SC right? I'd gap them a touch smaller (0.325) and see if the problem persists.

so did they.

it seems as though the shop foreman figured the tech missed something, or did something wrong, which is why they preferred to keep the car than let it go, and chance burning out the cat at their cost...

I'd call that a good call

good move on opting to do the MAF yourself.

what mileage are you at?

if you're like the LSJ/LNF, you run an iridium plug which is rated for something like 100k km's - so you shouldn't need to change them.

we did change out Mark's original NGK's, for the correct service replacement Delco's, stock gap, verified by myself.

i am over 100k. im at 106k? im around that range. my mechanics teacher told me to think about getting new ones soon, and that was 3 months ago. also my mileage has dropped so bad. used to get 400-450 per tank of 91. i got 320 out of my last one and i never drove the **** out of it. i always shift at 3000 and never floor it. my dash says 11.7L/100km. any suggestions to help me out?

Have u been idling your car in the driveway to warm it up??? That wastes a good amount of gas... Also y r u using 91. Aren't u driving a g5? Just use 87.

On a positive note my insurance has just dropped to $158 bucks a month! Sweet.

You sure? Even in my LSJ manual it says that you can use 87 Octane in it if your not driving the **** out of it (I'd never drive down the block without 91. Especially modded. Except once where I got screwed into putting gas in at a cardlock station ). So if the LSJ can even apparantly use 87 (stock) I can't see them making the 2.4 require premium.

the manual says to put 91 in, but my engine will run on 87 just i will have slower acceleration and an increased chance of knocking. so i treat my engine nicely

-Basic Wet system (NMU, bottle, brackets, fuel/nitrous hoses, fogger and nitrous/fuel jets)
-Racers Kit (purge, blow down tube, bottle heater)
-Window switch

Diabetic, coming from a kidded 2.4 87 is better to run in the winter and when the temps get warmer in the summer switch to 91. Works great and no misfires

got anymore info on the theory? What do u mean by "better"? Better in performance or gas mileage?. When i first got my SCT Tuner for the truck, i was running 91 octane and i was getting 26L/100km. Loaded on my fuel economy tune, kept the 91 in there, i got to 19.9. Then switched to 87 octane and its at 27L/100KM...that was all in the winter as well.

Well for my car atleast 91 was burning properly as the proper heat conditions weren't there to properly burn it in the winter time and running 91 I would misfire all the time. I switched to 87 and the misfires almost instantly went away.
